Anybody have any good powder coating contacts in Austin? Need to get a set of wheels blasted and coated. I walked into a place this morning where- I'm not kidding- they were cooking wheels in a normal Maytag kitchen oven. YIKES.
A friend of mine is quite close & good w/ the owner of Sideways Auto Salon (Dave). I've seen their work & it's quite good. I recall they do all sorts of surface-treatments & powder-coating/etc'. Perhaps give 'em a call & check 'em out. Otherwise, there's a local/regional wheel-repair service that charges $125'ish/wheel (which includes repair/restoration/refinishing), details posted here.

When I used to work for Motion Dynamics there in Austin, we used Akin Powdercoating in Cedar Park for pieces that wouldn't fit in our oven. He even did an old 4.6L Ford engine block for me that I was going to make a coffee table from. Never finished that project.
