I picked up a new daily driver about 6 months ago, and have been itching to find out how it will handle the back road twisties. It's a large sedan, but has 400hp and plenty of get up and go. I can go drive somewhere by myself, but it's difficult to know if the car would keep up with an energetically driven sports car when I'm on a road all alone. It looks like the weather may clear up this weekend, and I actually have some free time Sunday morning, so I'm considering going for a little jaunt. At this point I'm thinking of heading up the route we've taken before that runs East of 75. Will likely end up in Sherman at some point. I don't expect to be gone more than 2 or 3 hours, and hope to start pretty early, maybe 7:30.

    Anybody want to join me?

Very possibly. I also have a higher HP 4 door sedan, I will know by tomorrow, and post here.

Where are you thinking of for the starting point / meeting point?

I bet it performs better than what most of us have in the FIAT club for these roads. You would only lose your advantage on the track or twisty mountain roads. Otherwise our local roads are blow and go. Your handling in the sweepers would allow you one hand on the wheel while other drinking a coffee, texting, or picking your nose.

If you haven't seen this 430 Challenge video yet, watch the entire thing...

    Or all 3! :)

Honestly, what I'd like to know is how the car will do if I decide to take it to the Crescent Classic.

The power straights it would do great, but I bet it would push like heck in the tight corners. The GranSport even pushes like heck compared to the 328 in the tight corners. The Crescent roads are just like a track though, a skilled driver in a Prius can beat 500 HP exotics.

Game on. Meet at the Shell station on Legacy, just East of 75 at 8:00.

PM me for more details or my cell number, will check FChat before I leave the house. I have a route mapped.

Well THAT was fun! Except for Ma and Pa Kettle in the conversion van near Anna and Skippy the Attack Dog on the side of the road outside of Tom Bean, the run was a success. The big honking 4 door held it's own, and I still got 21 mpg out of my 130 miles. There was little drama taking fast sweepers at 70mph while drinking my latte, texting, and picking my nose. :)

My favorite stretch of road still is, and I found another I like a lot, that's actually closer to home.
