I did a search and could not find any paint protection installers in Eastern Long Island or anyone who does housecalls out in the Hamptons area! Do any chat members here have someone to recommend for my 360 CS?
    Thanks
    JJ

They don't do housecalls, but it's well worth it for you to make the trip to them. Eddie and Matt run the best shop on LI and maybe in the tristate area. They're known for top notch work and if you want the best, forget the rest!!!

DD is way too expensive...i had my cars done by joe d. from extreme coatings. he is an incredible guy and doesnt "sugar coat" everything like DD does just to justify the crazy prices DD charges. His work IMO is better than DD; and he does house calls. dont throw your money away...use joe d. 917-602-9761...trust me you will not be dissapointed!

I have to agree with Hexxman. Joe is your guy. I have seen his work and have worked with him in the past. He only does Paint Protection Film. He also does the cars for Miller and FOLI. I also know he makes house calls.

they tint windows!!!???!!! this is not rocket science! i will show my age a bit and ask who remembers the AID Auto part stores? i would buy trim-brite window tint film from them and tint my own windows, a bit of patience and a steady hand is all it took. sezme, you should of taken your car to Lorenzo Window tint in westchester....he is the BEST...and he charges about $450 for a car like that. he was tiniting when those guys where riding bicycles.

I second that about Lorenzo. He still hand trims his windows and they look better than tint cut on a plotter.

I disagree whole heartedly. It's a combo of the installer and quality of the product installed. They use 3M exclusively and are certified installers by 3M. Yeah - I called 3M to verify. I've never seen anyone cut tint on a plotter and I've had every car I've owned tinted and thats pretty damn close to 35 years - so I guess maybe thats something the less experienced shops do. DD handcuts all tint, as well as their paint protection jobs. No kits anywhere.. It's amazing to watch.

$450 is no bargain. Detailing Dynamics charged me $500 - but had to strip my previously installed bargain-tint from all of the Bentley's windows which entailed razor blading every ounce of adhesive otherwise the new tint will look like garbage. That alone took 2.5 hours. The job they did on my car is PERFECT, and I even got taken out to breakfast, and was sent home with a bag a free products to try on my own. The products alone totalled $100...

I had a great experience with Detailing Dynamics. I will happily drive the 120 round trip to have my other cars done any-day-of-the-week. I suggest you use whomever you feel comfortable with - but MY experience with DD has made me a customer for life.

I've met Joe personally at my shop and he's a good guy and does quality work. But what exactly does "sugar coat everything" mean? Is it because we're so sweet?
Anybody that's ever used us can watch us work on their/someone else's car in the shop; not one of them afterward said that we overcharge folks. We've been detailing cars for over 15 years and doing 3M film for almost 10. We don't do work for any dealers nor do we really advertise our services. Almost all of our clients are referrals from existing customers. In that time, I would think that the tight nit exotic car community would have cavities from all the sugar coating by now. The reason we don't do house calls is because we set up our shop for cleanliness and comfort - see the pic below.

Obviously you knowledge about tinting is limited. If you think tinting is simple, have you ever seen a compound curve window like a Vette rear glass being done? To see a professional do it is simply art. And BTW, I'm 43 years old and unless Lorenzo is a senior citizen your comment is not only ignorant but also idiotic. And I still ride bicycles.

BTW, if you're going to make accusatory statements based on hearsay at least be a man and fill out your profile so I know who is pointing the finger at me.

I think Matt has a valid concern. Someone with no experience doing business with him is making derogitory remarks for no apparent reason. When confronted and challenged, additional condecending remarks are made. Why?

That type of attitude is totally uncalled for, you've been called out "Sally", be woman enough to answer direct questions.
I've been guilty of referring many people to DD, nobody has ever accused them of being inexpensive, and nobody I've sent there has ever complained about the work, or the prices relative to the quality of the finished product. Whether it's been detailing, invisible bra, or tinting, their work is top quality. You want to do the "tint it yourself", you get what you pay for.

Obviously you are not gentleman enough to represent yourself as who you are, but would rather sling your hidden agenda around. You are a prime example of what is wrong with the automotive forums today. Instead of helping foster a community of car enthusiasts who share knowledge and help each other, troglodytes like you (who many times post anonymously) have a selfish agenda and believe the only way ahead is not by working harder but by putting others down. This creates a negative atmosphere for not only those involved but everyone else on the forums. The problem is, after getting banned, they just re-register under another name or go to another forum and continue the drama. In the end, it is the forum and the contributing members that suffer b/c many of the quality people leave b/c they get tired of the BS.

Possibly if you stopped slinging crap based on NO EXPERIENCE with a specific vendor - your opinion *may* be worthy of the page its written on. It's far easier to praise the vendors you prefer without bashing those that you have no experience with. Based on your attack-and-run agenda, followed by name calling - your opinion makes you look foolish.

If you put this on 100% of your car do you still have to detail it?
