would you buy a f355 with having a PPI Done

I am interested in buying a 1996 F355 the dealer is pushing the sale by telling me that he has other buyers that don't want a PPI, and would consider me at last resort. What would you do?.

 

Tell him to sell the car to the other buyers.

 

i seriously doubt he has other buyerS plural. maybe 1 other person who has expressed an interest.this isnt exactly the ferrari salesmens perfect market where demand outweighs supply...its a buyers market in the biggest way! if this is a ferari dealer i would never do business with them again!

unless you already have a repor with them from past experiences and trust them.

like its any skin off their back if you want to pay for a ppi?!

Don't go back and don't call... If the dealer calls you, tell him that you are looking at other 355's from other reputable sellers and that you'll consider him at last resort
trust me don't rush, take your time, the dealer is just trying to create a sense of urgency.

Thanks for the advice guys, its funny, I was planning on buying the car sight unseen, he told be he would hold the car with a unrefundable deposit. So I guess thats were the deal stops. Thanks for the advice.

Buying this car with no PPI is insane. Of course, I didn't buy my 348 with one, but I had plugzit with me. The dealer is missing an opportunity to establish himself as trust worthy and deserving of referrals. Find the other parties and educate them on this point. Or step back and watch the fun ensue. Car will be sold and returned more times than a rabid factory puppy.

 

That is not a very nice way of treating you (use you stated as a "last resort").

As others have said - the PPI is at your time and expense, so the only reason he would be avoiding a PPI is because he is hiding something. If it truly was going to pass the PPI, then he should have the confidence to say something to the tune of "please feel free, this will prove that this is an excellent vehicle in great shape ready to go, and the PPI will give you a piece of mind and will only clinch the deal".

Most likely, car is crap, and so is the dealer.

 

Is there anything more nauseating that a sleazy car salesman who doesn't even have the creativity to come up with a better "urgency close" than the one this idiot used with you?? Tell him you'll buy the car but if it has ANY problems in the first year, you're going to bring it back to the lot and redline it in 3rd gear all the way up his ass.

 

How about letting us know who the dealer is to keep other potential buyers from making a mistake by dealing with them?

 

Would you buy a car without seeing it or test driving it. Well? same goes for a PPI

Great advice on having a PPI.

You can find a VERY nice car out there if you take your time, have a PPI and are willing to pay more than the "beater" cars are currently selling for. In the end you will have a better, more properly maintained 355 for the money than those just looking for a great "deal".

There is no such thing as a "cheap" Ferrari of any stripe. Some cost more up-front, many much, much more later. Pick your poison, they are expensive cars to own, but the joys of owning a good one will be better than the pain of having to restore a bad one!!

You will spend money regardless.
