My Maserati Gransport is just out of warranty and the Check Engine light came on. Dealer says it is an O2 Sensor and not covered by the emissions warranty. Just checking with the group. Does that seem correct? Car is a California car if that matters. Thanks for advice.

Yes. Emission warranty coverage is based on part cost. There is a list of specific parts covered in the California warranty ststement that came with the owners manual.

Define, "just out of warranty." ANY reputable dealer would take covering this under warranty into consideration if you are a few miles over or a month or two over the time limit.

    Just a thought...

It is not the dealers choice. Some manufacturers are flexible, Ferrari almost never is.

it depends on your standing at that dealer if they are gonna try too push a claim through for you or not. maserati has been further separated from the ferrari brand than it was when your car was made. sometimes on clutch replacement on your car the sensors can get damadged during the job some flatraters just let em hang and leaving them open to get wacked sometimes
