got to thinking about this last night...I am sure that all you guys also have many opinions to share, here's my initial thoughts... Carol The majority of the races were flat boring (snooze-fests as called by many) but on the theatrical side the season rivaled any top soap opera. Perhaps an emmy is in order for Formula 1. Lie-Gate, Crash-Gate this gate and that gate seems to take precedent over racing. Diffuser, double/triple or none - sounds like a concoction from an ice cream parlor. Mad Max Follies, Bernie's repetetive open mouth insert foot exercises, evil politics, races decided after the fact are just some of the reasons the Sunday processionals seemed insignificant. It was a major happening when one car actually passed another or when the kick a@@ button was pressed and it actually worked. Yes, new faces were a breathe of fresh air - Kobayashi needs to be signed by Toyota - great incentive for Toyota to remain in F1. I know there's much more that I've forgotten since Australia but this is a start.
Well said. The soap opera of the management and regulators was more than the ever present failure to have consistent racing. We are often promised improvement in racing but what do we really have in the long run. More changes and the same processional proceedings for each event. Its sad, but the most interesting facets of F1 are not the cars or drivers actually racing, the but the overpaid masters of the so called show and the drama they create. They string us along with promises of cars that will pass each other, year after dull year. The cynics have won as with each reflection we start to think that maybe it is all actually staged. I guess there is always next year eh?
In really enjoyed Kobayashi passing Button about 20 laps in. So far he has been impressive. Hopefully Toyota stays in F1 and he gets a chance to show everyone Abu wasn't a fluke.
