Good deal, FD - you have plenty of time to get it in prime LeMons shape - if you can keep it running long enough, you'll be a Index of Effluency candidate - once I complete another race in the DSB, my goal is to go after the IoE award...

You might be right about the IoE award. This is a '62 or '64 model, not totally sure, and I hear that a Spitfire has never been run. Maybe no one has ever been dumb enough to try. Ignorante indeed.

Haven't seen it yet, it's out east somewhere. Thus "pending" deal...should have something in the next few weeks

(oh, and if anyone has a place to put it, that would be great. I'm still homeless these days...)

This sounds pretty fun. Looks like I need to read up on it. Is there a two-wheeled class?? :)

"The worlds roughest Fiat 600. Circus tent find! Actually farm field in Arizona find. Runs good ,but body does not have a good panel on it! Former clown car, no glass, almost no interior, lots of rust."

In the winners circle the entire team can pile out of it. I can visualise it.

    Not unless two fall off.
    A distinct possibility.

I think this sums up why we all like Tillman. Homeless, yet still buying junk cars! :)

That Maserati already looks like a better candidate than the Triumph. For starters, it appears to be assembled!

Tillman, I have outdoor storage next to a couple of G Scott machines, and you
are welcome to bring it out. Just off LBJ and Jupiter.

May cost you lunch at Hubbards.

@phil: Thanks, man! If the deal goes through I'll definitely be calling.

@Stew: No, I think that's the 'nice' Biturbo. We're talking about the other one with the lost paperwork...

Again, all depending on Carlos getting the thing to start, we'll know in a week or two. He's a good guy, wants to make sure he's selling me what I think I'm getting.

If it all does fall through, this thing is up in Tennessee...

    Okay.

    http://tinyurl.com/daves-bad-idea

I've since had second thoughts about this being a viable entry. Too many unknowns about that engine. After looking hard at the pics I see more wrong there than I did when I saw it in person.

Tires, wheels, brakes, seat, rollcage, all the stuff it needs does not count against the $500.00. That was my original thinking. It is super lightweight, but that could be a horrible thing if a car like Tillman's tennessee proposal is running alongside.
