I have a 1998 F355 Spider, engine out service recently completed. After driving for several miles there is a strong gas smell in cabin. No visible gas leaks/seepage. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Stop driving the car immediately. Have it towed to the mechanic. There is problem with the fuel line and a connector that is wearing through the fuel line. There was a service bulletin about how to place the connector, and apparently your isn't placed properly. It will start a fire. Been there done that, you don't want to have that happen. Have it checked immediately.

As you just had the major service done.....it is standard procedure to replace the main gas filter. There are copper washers replaced at the top and bottom of the filter......they can seap if not tight enough.....take your finger and touch the joints (incl where the fuel lines join the fuel rail)......and smell....it may be that the fittings are not tight enough.
If lose, tighten, and turn ignition on ( but do not start the car yet).....see if fuel leakage is stopped.....if yes...start the car and again ...use the finger test.....to make sure there are no further leaks. If it continues to leak at the fuel filter after tighening, you may have to replace the copper washers .
p.s. I would also hose down the filter area with water if leaks were found there.

Regarding the fuel line recall......this should have been done about 10 years ago....if it was not done, you will have to have it done now at your cost.

Had a similar problem with my 308 - gas would leak out of the fuel return line, more like wetting the area where the hose connected to the metal fitting - probably more like seeping - so that connection would be wet, and produce very small amounts of fuel, but actually evaporate before it could hit the ground - a friend discovered it while trouble shooting a no start problem and had to remove the air cleaner housing. The no start problem was a fuel pump.

Thanks all - found the leak- it was a bad gasket at the fuel block.
