Anyone know if you can charge controllers with the unit off with the new PS3 slim. I've got a PS3 and I hardly ever use it so the controllers go dead fast. I don't want to leave the unit on to charge the controllers. Did they solve this issue with the slim?

I know you plug the Slim in. I know the controllers connect to the slim with a usb cable. I just want to know if the slim has to be turned on to charge the controller like the PS3 regular version does.

Mine is the same as yours, has to be turned on to charge (using the slim), it's pretty annoying

I just plug them into my PC to charge as that is on all the time anyway.

They also make wall electrical socket chargers too. You plug the USB into the power brick thing.

FYI, the PS3 now has an option to turn off automatically after a few hours of inactivity.

If I've been playing for a while, and I don't have another method of charging my controller, I'll just plug it in and let the PS3 turn off on it's own.
