Let's all not be rude about this, various rumors are flying all over many automotive boards about the crash. Just be glad a fellow Texan wasn't hurt.

Just curious - anyonw know at what speed the wing deploys on those things? He/she was obviously in excess of that speed when "distracted" by the evil pelican...

I think I saw on top gear that it is also a drag spoiler that comes up under heavy braking.

Wow, that's a very strange coincidence, another Veyron (even the same color) got stuck in a pond the other day, but that was over in Texas.

I'm sure that it will go back to Bugatti and they may be able to fix it but salt water in a car like that is bad news and it could cost major $$$$$$$.

I wonder if his insurance will cover him as he mentions a cell phone distracting him or did I get that wrong and it was the pelican on the cell !!

Very nice how the drag the car out by its wheel.....

Actually surprized that it didn't just skim over the water - he should never have braked !

Luckily for all the Veyron owners, these cars are not made in France, but Germany.

Actually, it stopped running for coupes many months ago. The last 50 cars that are being made are roadsters.

And as to towing this out of a pond/lake, that was the only method. Doubtful any tow truck driver in the USA could find/locate the tow points on a Bugatti while it is partially submerged.
