That brings back memories! I had a AA yellow Discovery XD back in 97. Car had tons of character but low on power. Never had any issues with it though. Still would like a AA yellow softop Defender though they are still pricey for the age.

HA! Im afraid there is truth to that statement. I was passed my every Land Cruiser, Patrol, G-wagon and every other 4x4 on the road... I love the Landy but they are SLOW!

    You want slow?

Slow is driving a fully loaded 109 Dormobile camper over Tioga Pass into Yosemite in California early in the morning to avoid the other traffic......about 15 mph in 2nd gear was maxxed out! Driving on the verge most of the time to avoid being run down by hungry deer.....downhill was better, after a $1500 brake overhaul.......

Pulled out the Land Rover today to try to get it running, has sat since 1980 and hasn't been licensed since 73.

Figured with the nice weather it would be fun to tinker with,

BTW my 6 year old daughter named it Elsa after the her favorite movie "Born Free" She loves it because its the same truck they drive with the lion on top in the movie. She wants me to fix it up for her to drive when she is 16... :) I bet she changes her mind by the time she is 16...

This is my Isabela (now almost 10) with Erica, her truck. She says she will keep it forever... I wait until she gets to driving age, maybe she will give it back to me!
BTW, what's going on with girls nowadays? It used to be a boy's dream, to have a Land Rover. Times, they have a-changed ;-)
