Haven't seen a whole lot from the Jalpa people out there - and as I have an '84ish version would enjoy hearing other's trials / fun times with the wonderful car..

It's ELA12185.. now something I've been wondering about on the car are the body panels - most are stamped with a matching corresponding number (185) but others have 176 stamped in them..

i've seen other auto manufactures stamp the production number into the body panels - not sure if that was the intent from Lamborghini?? Others notice this?

Your car looks great! Those wheels seem like a natural fit for the car - even as a 15 inch wheel..

I've done a few changes I've done to help improve reliability:

Brake rotors from BMW M series - directionally vented 2 piece rotors (front currently, rears following this winter)

    Brembo calipers

    Electromotive direct fire ignition

    Relocated Alternator

    Other odds and ends..

my fother had an early jalpa
    red-tan with urraco tail lights

i remember it as a beauiful, fun car with an awesome awesome sound ! :)

    the biggest faults:
    - too heavy for the power
    - not so good brakes
    - front felt light at speed

p.s. i personally love the ones with bravos, the regular OZ rims....look just boring and too thin on the rear imo

LOL...... My neighbor down the street has one and I saw it once
at Publix grocery store!!! That looked funny, besides how many
food bags could you possibly fit in there? lol

Actually now that I think about it, I guess I assumed that maybe some were
injected..... Makes sense though, especially with such low numbers that all would be
the same. I think in a hand full of years, anything with carbs will go way up in price from
all others... it will surely be a major detail that defines "Vintage".

I'll jump in. I own a 1985 Jalpa #FLA12223. Red with black interior. I had wanted one since the 80s. I took delivery in April. I participated in a rally with 185 cars yesterday and really enjoyed the fact that I had the only Jalpa. I was shocked at how many self proclaimed car guys had never heard of the car.

Issues: In July, I broke a shift fork and the car was laid up for 2 months. Now, if I could only get rid of that midrange hesitation, it would be mechanically perfect. Then, I'd think about a new stereo system and bravos. Still on the fence about a wing.

Bullish, you should look into getting MSD or Permatune ignition on your Jalpa. It will make it run alot smoother. I have Permatune on my Jalpa and it made a big difference, Raymonds site has some good info about it.

Yes Lynn I attended Celebration and took that picture. I hope someday we can meet
since older Lambos are so rare. (I own a countach)
I eventually will get some pictures of my neighbors Jalpa. Last year he had the engine
rebuilt and recently had it repainted.

I remember an issue of Playboy (I think) back in the 80's that had a black or dark
blue Jalpa in their Christmas issue. Anyone remember that?
