need recommendation for auto transporter

My father has purchased a Fiat 500 near Diss and needs it transported about 200 miles to Southampton.
The only quote we were able to get on line was for GBP 457, which seems excessive considering that we will only be paying about $850 US to have it shipped over 2700 miles from New York to the west coast of the US.

Has anyone had any experience with auto transporters they can recommend?
This car is can be driven and does not need to be in a closed container or trailer.
