    I think Santander are moving to Ferrari for next season, just like they moved to Mclaren when Alonso arrived there :)

    IMO Kimi will sit out F-1 in 2010 and Rally race instead

    They are moving over, but this will be in addition to their contract with McLaren.

    To be an F1 driver in the first place, you need to have tremendous self-belief. It's much the same with anyone who is amongst the very best in the world at their chosen profession. It's hardly surprising that the very best occasionally voice their confidence. Why do people selectively attribute British drivers with having huge egos while make excuses for other nationalities?

    If a German expresses confidence in himself, it's his cold analysis of the facts at his disposal.

    If an Italian expresses confidence in himself, it's passion.

    If a Spaniard expresses confidence in himself, it's flair.

    But far be it from a Britain driver to express confidence in himself - to do anything other than be modest and self-deprecating would be arrogance and ego... why is that?

    Andrew bear in mind that you're reading the English speaking press. The native press always, and not surprisingly, focus on their home drivers and tends to be more critical.
    It wasn't that long ago that Prost has labeled a whinger (sp?) and the Italian press has traditionally been very tough on the Ferrari crew.

    Of course, if Button is joining McLaren for next year, that's a good bit of money saving by McLaren as they won't have to buy any new numbers for the cars, they will still be 1 and 2.

    (This does mean however that some will see the No.1 car as the number 2 car and the No.2 car as the number 1 car, even though McLaren will say that in their team there is no Number 1 car, apart from the car with No.1 on it!).

    With a British world Champion two years running maybe they are just winning wusses ;).

    It tends to be very un-British to have an "in your face" ego. It goes against the "poor little underdog" attitude that we Brits like to have. We are a comparitively small nation that sometimes likes to punch above our weight (a classic example being David Haye v Nikolai Valuev in boxing). We don't even consider losing as the worst thing in the world as long as we've given it our best shot. This is one of our greatest attributes, being able to accept that the best man won, wherever he came from (although in the British press it seems to be alot harder if they are from Germany. The reporting during the Schumacher era bordered on racial hatred at times, as if World War 2 had never ended!).

    I honestly don't wish to offend anyone on here but we tend to find the "glitzy, razzamatazz, in your face, I'm better than you!" attitude rather lacking in class.

    I have a good friend who grew up in Kentucky and honestly thought herself a Southerner.
    Until she moved to Louisiana.

    :p Well, not to hand, no. :eek:

    Actually, the biggest shock was Alabama to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. School kids up there are really not fond of Southerners and it was a rough adjustment. Next moved to Southern England was pretty smooth, then another smooth move to university in Northern England (incidentally, my parents are from that area), and now doing postgraduate study in Scotland, which had a little bit of an adjustment but not too bad. :)

    Next move will be back to the States, wherever will employ me. :cool:

    Isnt 70ish % of F1 run and built by the Brits? There's no getting away from it we Brits are the worlds best in the F1 arena ....dot com:) The US can bring up the rear, and as they say "this is show me country" and we are showing :) No amount of smart talk and digs at the UK will change that.
    I predict that the world drivers championship will stay in the UK for the next 5 years.
