Im in the process of ordering a New CS, When asking if any cars are allocated for next year most Dealerships are stating that Ferrari have not realised any cars for production next year and that the build may be limited to 800 Cars..

Anyone throw any light on this??

It was initially limited to 900 cars but then the "limited" production issue sort of kept silent. But it is rumoured that production will not extend to next year.

    Joe,

I went through all of this last year. Ferrari don't release the 2005 allocations etc. until around November time which is a pain.

Didn't know you were in the market for a CS - happy to sell you that slow old BMW I've got :)

the CW says that it's not "limited production" per se, but since modena production is coming to a close soon, it's not possible for them to make that many. i always understood that the 900 number was simply "as many as we can make until the modena line switches over" to whatever's next.

If the number is 800-900 and the total production is around 3000 per year than CS represent 27-30% of a years production. Hardly what someone would call limited.

I understand that there are a total of 11-12 Stradales coming to Ferrari of Ontario, which services all of Western, Central, and Eastern Canada and about 4-5 cars going to Quebec. Total 16 to 18 cars for Canada :)

Sept 04 Kevin, May get a few good days use before winter......At least I have the Spider for the Summer Months.....

So If i have this correct the CS represents approx 30% of the total Modena build figure for 2004.

If no figures have been released and these will be issued in Nov-Dec 04 the 05 Model may well be the new 360 replacement......which makes the total number of 360CS Modena,s at 800-900 cars ??

Why else are people throwing such big bucks at those things? Because they are limited, people feel they will keep their value better than the Modenas..I too agree that 800 is not limited...if it were, they would have produced 800 limited Enzos...

I think you'll find they're not. Maybe 10K over list and you can buy one right now. They're specialist, I think they'll hold their value maybe a little better than a regular 360, but its a variant not a different car. If it was only 900 cars and it was a really different car then maybe its a different story.

"however don't assume that the CS is a truly limited edition car and that you won't lose money on it too."

I agree. I hope that my Stradale will depreciate more slowly than other 360s but, to twist a cliche, if hopes were horses, beggars would ride. 900 is, to me, a big number.

Thanx for all your comments, My motive towards the numbers produced is to get some feel for re-sale.

Ive always lost money on cars guys I used to buy new Mercs so no new thing there...

I suppose as a reletively new Fcar owner im trying to calculate the amount I may lose over say one -two years......Oh and I buy these cars cos i love them, Fxxk the money its for spending..you carnt take it with you when your numbers up so enjoy it to the max.

My motto guys if you got spend it...and what betta then the cars you desire....my biggest prob is i hate to lose money but if its on a good Car what the Heck!!!!!!
