Air scoops? What is the reason for the air scoops in the "restored" picture? Is that a latter vehicle?

    Totally different vehicle.

It's P4 0856 which didn't win the 24 of Daytona and wasn't a spyder at that race either.

You can also see the P 3/4 vs P 4 door bottom line which is straight on P 3/4 0846 and stepped up on P4 0856.

"The Factory and Parkes promised, in November 1968, the Daytona winner to Dr. Richard S. Wilkins who had treated Parkes in hospital. Hence Wilkins got "the Daytona winner"."

Seems the Factory was showing off "The Daytona Winner" to several people in 68.

Here's a photo of the winner of the 1928 Targa Florio standing next to "it".

Marcel has always been very straightforward when describing 0846 as it exist today using the term "Resurrected" (Brought back from the Dead) a term the factory has also used which I think is the right way to describe 0846.

Unlike other's who have opined Marcel has also thoroughly inspected 0846.

For many years David Clark who owned 0856 publically stated and magazines and other Historians (Not Marcel) reported that the car David owned was "The Daytona Winner" which, beyond the shadow of ANY doubt is not True.

Years later Doug Nye stated concerning 0846:

"Regarding the latter entity I remain personally intensely suspicious about the owner's current claims for it, perhaps 5% from simple prejudice (because anybody who parades as a badge his preference for running such cars on the public road - like a wild bird in a cage - twangs my personal "what a tosser" chord, as I made clear) - but I spare a couple of per cent for the possibility (and I put it no stronger than that) that Jim Glickenhaus's declared beliefs and conclusions are based upon sustainable evidence....unless he, or someone working on the car, has indulged in some pretty serious wilful falsification (which I also made clear)."

It's interesting to note that a long time ago Nathan proved beyond the shadow of ANY doubt that 0846's chassis is exactly as I bought it from David Piper and that I have not:

"indulged in some pretty serious wilful falsification..."

It is also quite clear from the above photographs exactly who did engage in:

"serious wilful falsification" regarding the racing history of 0856 the car that David Clark wound up owning and describing as "The Daytona Winner" obviously believing the original falsehood.

Another mystery that is a mystery no more.

Pretty obvious who the trickster was, then..
...and his statute of limitations has expired!

A quick paint reshoot when they swapped the numbers on the roundrels, and it was "another day at the office"....LOL!

I do it on my karts, too........no big deal which one is "27" or "28"...the parts are interchangable for the MOST part.....under the skin, there's noticable differences though...;)

    Great photos gang!

I didn't create this poll or this thread. I think Art did and all the 0846 threads some how have come to be merged into one thread including the poll thread which, as an aside, isn't accurately calculating the results percentage wise.

Money wise? I'm not sure what you're asking. 0846 isn't for sale, nor will she be. What she may or may not be worth is meaningless to me. I haven't sold a collector car for over 38 years.

0846 has had a HUGE amount of public disclosure and were she to come to market, which once again she won't, potential buyers would have enough information to deceide what to pay.

I very much doubt the results of this pole would enter into potential buyers calculations.

Doubting? Mais Non. I beleive as I have for about 10 years that 0846 is exactly as I have described and her legal status: 1967 Ferrari P 3/4 0846, which was established in a legal proceeding many years ago, has been accepted by World Wide Motor Vehicle Authorities, World Wide Custom's authorities and the time passed long ago where that legal status can be challenged by anyone.

Finally things between Ferrari and I remain, as they've always been, fine and 0846 remains parked in my garage on their web site and the last time we discussed her they told me they were happy that I was happy.

The percentages look right to me. Personally, though, I would rather just delete the poll. Any objections?

I see. Each shows the proper % for that selection, though. Must have been an entire selection that was deleted at some point? Oh well.

Can't make the poll go away completely for some reason. The only choice is to clear out the data.
