It seems a bit late in the process to be filling some of theses spots.
Could it be that they've only just got the funding?

It's OK there's still 74 days before the first official test.

Hey, what a week, a sign on the building, some help wanted ads, what next?

Obviously they're not showing us the 'roller' that would be done early November, they want the staff to see it.

Oh, PeeWee said recently that he has a stack of applications for people wanting work.

Good time to sweep up some of the Toyota lay offs though.

    Oops, that eliminates me.

No worries. That's plenty of time <cough cough>.

As I mentioned earlier in another thread, PW moved that goal post to February. Cheeky monkey, isn't he?

As you mentioned earlier, that's probably easier said than done given the US Visa restrictions. Then again, they might hire and employ them at their Eurobase in Lalaland, I mean Motorland.

The deadline to answer is November 26.

So by the time X-mas comes around, they have weeded out the applicants and made job offers.

After everybody returns from the Holidays, that leaves roughly one month to build a car from scratch to have it ready for February's testing session. Oh wait, it needs to pass those pesky crash tests first. Hmm. Ok, it'll be ready in time for the first practice session in Bahrain.

Not to worry. If some average guy like Ross Brawn can do it with an already built chassis by Honda, then I'm sure a genius like PW can do it from scratch...

Plenty of parking available for the new hires. a friend drove by and counted two cars in the parking lot.

Did'nt PeeWee or Kennie say that they had 55 and were about to start double shifts not too long ago?

    errr, huh?

The entire staff is at Daytona and so the building is empty?

Well, another check mark in the "obviously not serious" column. I wonder if the building will be closed all summer long as the entire staff goes to the races?

No logic in any of this,

why Daytona? with facilities down the road at Carolina Motorsports or even CMS.

why everybody? not much going on while they're gone! what are a bunch of machinist/prod people gonna do?

why do Cosworth GAF? here's the engine, let's see your install, let's check it run, there ya go, all yours. Call when it runs in anger and we'll have you a tech there. the chassis people are responsible to put correct ancillary suited to their car.

Having said all this, maybe Mr Trulli is driving for MWR just down the road and will take the 'roller' for a spin?

I wonder where J Summerton is this week??

Surely no one has had time to bolt a Cossie onto a Toyota already?

Because of the experience they ask these people won't exactly be sitting on the couch at the moment. There will be interviews, contract-offers, counteroffers, negotiations e.d.
There is no way they'll get all these people to work before the end of this year.
Maybe they'll start working on developing and upgrade for the Toyota but not on the car that will be on the grid at the 1st race.

Some good points are made here.

Usually when companies are in a hiring phase the parking lot is full. People are being shown around the company. Potential employees are being shown around the company grounds. Not only for the executive and technical positions, but especially for the admin employees that keep the company going on a daily basis. The place should be swarming with people if the company is indeed currently filling positions...

Color me skeptical. I see smoke but no fire...
