Agreed. Cars like the Rapide and Panamera, are they in competition with the 7-Series and S-Class? Or is this a totally new segment? Where does the CLS fit in? Just thinking out loud...
It's not bad, not too far off of what I expected. However......... A face only its mother could love - It definitely lost the beauty part of contemporary AMs' sleek, aggressive beauty. Great in profile still, except for that near-SUV snout. What happened there? Maybe perspective/camera point of view/angry Jaguar designer snuck-in for revenge? Yep - By a nose.
So, everything about the concept version was a lie? Its better than the porsche, I guess, but after seeing the concept version this one is just not acceptable
Our local dealership flew some of us down for the day for the unveiling. It is stunning when you see it in person. You don't notice the snout as much as you do in the posted pictures. Nobody is going to be looking at the car from about 1 ft off the ground. The proportions and the classic Aston shape translate very well in the 4 door application. They could have made the rear doors a little bit wider and the front doors a bit shorter. The opening to get into the back seats could have been a little bigger.
Quattroporte 10/10 Rapide 8/10 Benz CLS 6/10 Panamera 4/10 The Maser and AM blow the Porsche out of the water...I cant understand how anyone could choose the Porsche.
Maybe the performance? Panamera TT will blow out of the water any AMG,with the Maser not even worth mentioning. Depends on the reason someone is choosing one car over the other, buy it for the looks alone or for the performance? Performance: Panamera 10/10 CLS63 8/10 Rapide 6/10 Maserati 4/10
I think the slightly awkward front end probably has a lot to do with the European bumper/pedestrian laws. anyway, I think it looks great. AM turned a two-door coupe design into a sedan much better than Porsche did with the Panamera. as for the performance aspect, who cares...all of these cars far exceed what you can do on the street, and none of them are track cars.
The performance figures are so close its meaningless except at the track and I highly doubt many of these cars are going to the track. No one is 'blowing away' anyone. Its armchair racing and magazine bragging rights which I find to be very high school.
Maybe I need my eyes checked, but I don't see a single bad angle on this car. The front end may look a little stout but I would consider that somewhat natural for a bigger car like this
Absolutely. Looks: AM Performance (real world): any of them Luxury/Exclusivity: AM What would I want: AM all the way!!!
