Look forward to more info... I don't disagree or dispute that they are in Daytona doing some 'testing' (would be curious what they are testing?) but I don't think in the history of F1 there has been a team where the factory is vacant because the team is away testing :)

That's what is so interesting about all this ;)

Lime Rock Park sent out an E-Mail today describing P.W.'s visit last weekend.
Took some laps in an AMG with Sam Posey driving and appears to have had a grand time.
While he may not need to be slaving away 24/7 on part of USF1 you've got to wonder why, given the questions about the team's viability, he's so willing to be seen larking.

Eager to see that as well. When we talk about Daytona, I take that would be the infield. Strange place but then again the fact that it is a stadium comes in handy to prevent those spy shots.

The fact that they go to a track to test indicates to me they have a rolling chassis, which would be great news and match their original plans of November. So where is this chassis suddenly coming from? They must have outsourced the machining of it.

No one from USF1 is at Daytona.

Someone must be driving by the car park at lunch time if they arent seeing any cars.

Sounds like the same stuff read everywhere else. Amazing how they leave out so much stuff to distort the image! So now the roller is due January, three weeks prior to testing starting? Glad PeeWee doesn't need to work 24/7 at this 'dream' of theirs. LOL

    75 days and counting.

Is this a new USF1 hire? Argentinian driver José María López.

    http://www.carburando.com/LOPEZ-VIAJO-A-EEUU-PARA-CONOCER-EL-USF1-N-07C81B0E112F32729A185A9124313CB3.htm

Google's poor translation of the site:

LOPEZ FLEW TO U.S. TO KNOW THE USF1

"Pechito" Lopez flew last night to Charlotte, U.S. to meet U.S. F1 team.
In the last few hours would have shown up money and endorsements to realize missing joining the team of Peter Windsor.
The Cordoba was accompanied by Felipe Mc Gough and the deal could be imminent.
On Friday will take a return to Argentina because the weekend will run in the TRV6 Chaco.

edit: got the tip from http://twitter.com/F1_Addict

    Lol

Here some highlights of his career taken from that article:

...unlike many others who grew up karting. This proved to be a disadvantage as he gained a reputation for crashing rather too often.

The year after that he was in GP2 with DAMS and won a race in Barcelona, finishing ninth in the series.

2006 was a poor year and he finished 10th in the championship and disappeared off to America to race in the ALMS

There is little doubt that if Lopez has been signed by USF1 it will be for sponsorship and it remains to be seen whether he will be granted a superlicence

Bernie has promised each new team $10 mil. + free transport of 2 cars to all 2010 GP with set quatity of Cargo. After that is gone, they are on their own.

Daytona makes no sense--a banked track with minimal infield to use. And I would think private testing there would be significantly more expensive than places like Barber or even Road Atlanta, not to mention twice the distance. Maybe they're testing sunscreens.

    In what regard?
