Agree. They need to throw something muted into the mix for those of us who enjoy a less flash iteration. Perhaps a TdF blue or a silver? I'm still hoping for a two-tone version (roof) from the factory but it seems buyers will have to do that on their own.

 

It is not enough that the Swiss people have such a beautiful country and good life, now also early debut of 458!!!!!

 

Because Switzerland is nearer to Italy than Hong Kong.

 

Any pics yet of the Swiss 458 showcar?

Interesting! Thank you for the link. It seems red/tan for the 458 is about all Ferrari is showing at this time.

If I was in charge I'd be showing that 3 coat yellow everywhere. Everyone who's seen that colour seems to be absolutely knocked out by it.

 

I think part of the problem with the Tristrato Yellow is the inconsistent color. It photographs differently depending on the angle and the amount of light. When reproduced in print it often appears a rather dark lifeless shade of yellow. That problem can even be seen in some of Ferrari's own literature.
Some of the computer images seem to capture the yellow well but it doesn't show consistently. The Rosso Corsa does seem to be a safe choice; most people show up expecting to see a red Ferrari. Then there are some shows were you won't see any 458 on display...

Yeah, that trick paint never really works in pics. It's like the pearlescent colour on the Lambos - I've yet to see a photograph that makes it look anywhere near as good as it does when you're stood next to it with the light playing off the angles.

Well you do get a hint in some of the pics (and that's quite a nice pic), but I bet that's not giving you half of the depth you'll see in the metal when it does its thing at the edges and across the throw of the curves. Very much looking forward to seeing this pint up close. Wonder how much the repair bills will be, though. A while back I had a Caterham 7 with trick paint and on two occasions I had to replace body panels. The paint cost three times as much as the body panel.

 

I really don't like that pearl-yellow

 

This picture that Bill S took in more natural light shows a different shade to the color. Yet it is still the same paint...

That's in the Galleria Ferrari in Maranello. I also saw that pearl-yellow 458 there.

I wasn't very impressed by the color. I love pearl white...but I'm not a fan of that effect on yellow.
