I'm thinking he'd rather photoshop the hat so it looks like.....a hat. In that shot it has a certain camoflage quality. Very NASCAR.
sorry I missed today ... the rest of the day is open and the sun is just peeking out around here. The roads finally drying so, gonna need to fire her up and drive!
Damn. I didn't think many of you guys would head out this morning. It has been crappy here all day in Cromwell.
Lane, does that mean you aren't going to take it out anymore this year? Another layer or two of brake dust won't add much to the cleaning time in January. Looks like this weekend has a chance of being decent. Go for it!!!!
No Phil, he's likely referring to the swiss cheese residue on the grates. That's ok, it's a common problem.
It you get it fresh its not a problem...its when you let it sit. The stuff hardens like oatmeal. Phil...The car and I will be there until the first street sanding. Then, just me.
Just for fun...F40 under the glass at the entrance to the Paris dealership. They must've had 30+ cars in back, a few Enzo's, F40's, you name it. sweet! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jay, I thought I smelled something on the TR after my last hot run.... must have been the leftover mozarella in the grate. Lane, I was at SB's with the TR the first week of January 2009 and I plan on being there on December 27th to close this year out, weather permitting. It's been a great year for the CT gathering!!!!
Phil that was a classic winter meet! We need to do the same this Dec/Jan just to see how many prancing horses we can get to show in the middle of winter. The challenge has been laid down!
I'm in !!! I always put more miles on the fcar at this time of year than in the summer months. In a few more weeks it'll be time to change over to the snow tires. - Ed -
I agree with Craig and Mike, and was thinking even a "local" drive would be fun. We could do it mid-gathering or wait until the end. There's a route I like to take that goes from G'bury to Hebron and back that has a good combination of scenic back roads (slow but twisty), good secondary roads (large bends at medium speed), and a few miles of highway. It would take a little over an hour. I have a map of the route and was going to post it here but thought better of it. I believe tomorrow's weather forecast is looking good...
I've organized lots of "group drives" for the VW and Audi guys, so I have a few ideas for routes in the Northern CT area. One of my favorites is to stop at the parking area and boat ramp at the Colebrook River Lake on RT 8. Nice roads, beautiful scenery and a great place to park and chat.
Another nice day Albiet a little chilly. Loved the ride...that really does make a nice differance. Next year we are going to have to ask each member to put together a cruise of their favorite roads, 1/2 to 1 hour in duration for us to experience as a group. Looks like you guys had a great day and a good turnout. Sorry I couldn't make it, Sean wasn't feeling well and I wasn't able to get a ride. I'll try to make it next time.
