Here's the link to the event on Saturday: http://www.hamptondowns.com/Construction-Update.wse It was originally supposed to be at the end of last month.
Should be there by 2pm. Car is getting serviced on Thursday. Still only watching on Saturday though and not driving on track.
Three day weather forecast on Metservice website looks good so far, with a High over the North Island and no rain, so will definitely be there if that happens
Exactly, that is the plan. Spoken to her once since I have been back. Gut feel is she has a case of "the grass is greener" and from what I can gather she is mistaken. No point me wasting good time on what if. I'm trying to devote my time to looking forward now. Life is good!!
really ****ty photos with a bit of warping (thanks cameraphone!) although glad i got them none the less. yellow dealer plate is '5481X'.. wouldn't be too surprised if this is the newly imported one http://yfrog.com/9fsspx0344j http://yfrog.com/57sspx0346j disclaimer: the photos were taken by the passenger - its just a trick of the eye making you think they were taken by the driver (which of course is now illegal!)
I'm pretty sure that car was sourced from DK Engineering just outside London. I was in contact with one of their sales managers in September who mentioned that they had just sold one for export to NZ.
Now hiring a little buzz box and staying in motels (the wimp option ;-)...looking forward to the break. Any advice on the Desert Road would be appreciated...I'm thinking of doing a run down to Southwards then back through Levin and Manfeild but the bit up through Turangi back to Puke is a bit of an unknown also.
Desert Road - normally at least three or four cop cars with radar. There is always a Police speed trap of two cars on a very straight stretch of road that goes steeply up hill for a few kms with great views of Mt Ruapehu off to the west, just waiting for people to lose their licenses. State Highway 1 between Karapiro and Hamilton is normally crawling with cop cars as well. In Cambridge (south of Hamilton) you can get on State highway 1B to get away from them - most of the time there are no cop cars on it or just one. It really depends what your interests are though, as there's lots to do. Geothermal tourist sites near Taupo like Orakei Korako, prawn farm at Huka Falls, fishing, kayaking, golf, hiking, Waitomo Caves. Away from State Highway 1 are Mt Maunganui, Tauranga, Rotorua, Raglan, Coromandel.
Desert road is ok, that time of year you will be fine weather wise, nothing to see there, just drive on through. Southwards is well worth the effort, great place. How long are you over for?
Anyone else see this??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2oVTULyWZk Strange and funny at the same time...
Nero 360 Modena heading south on the Auckland motorway yesterday morning....didn't get to see the plate, looked to have tan interior....
Nice colour combo (although not major fan of black usually).. Dark Blue and tan can work well too.. eg 911 Turbo and other cars. Prices of 360 here continue to drop and even below top of the 355 price range.. good modern relative bargain.. same pattern in NZ?
Yeah, same here, it's been that way for a while though, when I brought my 355GTB (07) I paid the same money as a 360 that was avalable at the time, I looked at the 360 and decided the lines of the 355 are closer to my heart. I think a good 355 is at least 10k over a average 360, compare good with good and its the same money IMO. Nero with tan is a nice combo....I like most dark colors and tan or crema.....
