Why not just weld in a chunk from the roof of a GTB?

Thanks all, the eye is better now still a bit red and sensitive so no welding this week. You learn to value your health when you are temporary disabled. I'm lucky that while I've had many accidents there is nothing permanent.
I do use goggles most of the time but sometimes you just can't see what you're doing.

I want to keep the possibility to remove the targa roof but I'm thinking of making it bolt on/off, with the bolts connecting steel to steel, window frame/rear top to IxI roof frame.

If you have a bit of experience filming and a proper camera, I would like you to make the ultimate youtube 10 minute tire burning and power oversteer video in exchange for a free ride :) . Will be next year.
Hp and torque will be whatever it is. I'm aiming for 1.0 bar boost so 350 HP is not unrealistic I think. I heared that APR Roermond has a dyno and I have connections through some Alfa guys I know maybe I will go there.

Air filters. They look very well made at least as good as K&N and they were cheap at 19 euro/piece. The filtering area is 600 cm2 and that is 10% more than the standard filter, and I have 2...excellent for doubling the horsepower!
They are too large to fit behind the air intakes I made behind the side windows, so they will go as originally planned in the side pockets behind the rear wheels, a good use for space otherwise wasted.
Then I can use the new intake for the original oil cooler in it's original spot, that will save some time fabricating and getting oil lines for the new cooler I bought. Nothing is decided yet, the plumbing (and there is a lot) can only be done when the engine is back in.

Progress is slow lately, have been doing the other side window and made larger air inlet openings in the rocker below the door. Also trying to make vents underside behind the rear wheels from polycarbonate (like Lexan, but other brand) that is easier to shape than aluminium, pics will follow.
However I'd like to point you to my ebay auctions for some stuff mentioned here before, fuel distributer, injectors, WUR, pistons, motor mounts and... my genuine black leather Ferrari jacket by Cerruti 1881, I wore it only a couple of times: http://shop.ebay.nl/bert308/m.html
Descriptions are in my best German (which is not very good) because I listed on he German ebay that is much bigger than the Dutch. However there is no surprises in the decriptions, the pics speek for themselves.
Free feel to bid and fund this project, shipping worldwide!

edit: for the motormounts, you bid on 1 piece, but can have up to 3 for the same price, same for the pistons, I have 7 left.
I also will be selling the GTS side window louvres that are GTB modified including locks and 2 keys but I will first have to clean them up a bit and then take pictures.

Yes, about 3000 km/2 years. I bought 2 sets of 4 for a much better price than Ferrari, 200 euro total, from a german Mercedes parts seller and the seals were another 50 euro from Superformance. I will also throw in some of the injector retainers for the 2V for free for any fchatter bidding (I see some familiar names bidding hehe). I ultrasonically cleaned these injectors after removal. The hex-part of 1 or 2 is slightly damaged when the spanner slipped upon removal but still perfectly useable. If you remove your old ones and some are stuck, just use a punch on the retainer because you will get good retainers from me!
I also have the original steel injectors, don't know if they are worth anything but they worked great and I can clean them in the ultrasonic cleaner if anybody wants them.

I don't watch to many movies or TV so I had to google that, I only remember Ferris Bueller saying, "If you have the means, just go ahead and do it!" or something in that spirit...
This project has taken way too long and it needs another year and the past month I was a little uninspired to do much but I will pick up work next week again.
Next projects in my imagination are putting a Subaru STi running gear and AWD suspension in an Alfasud shell and building a turbo Lancia Montecarlo lookalike (and runalike) after that I will be too old...

I am very impressed with your work, I also supercharged an old 308GT4 many years ago with a 3.8 GM supercharger, I used remote mount electric water pump and did away with the Ferrari water pump allowing me to mount the supercharger on top with a Ford Lightning water to air intercooler under it. I used electromotive TEC2 with MSD DIS4 and individual plugs. My wife road with me and helped program the EFI once, after that she would not get back into the car. :)

I also have a twin turbo 208 GTB. I like guys that do there own thing.

You have a TT 208 GTB and don't post pictures! That has to be against some sort of forum policies. Moderators? Please post pics we would all love to see. Thanks!

Hi Jack and welcome to Fchat. Since you just joined you probably haven't seen the SC 308 from Will de Groot, it is a similar build as yours: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101045. Also Mark E the guy with the V12 conversion previously had a setup with an Eaton without IC and later a Lysholm type with water/air cooler that made >500 bhp, unfortunaletly there is no dedicated thread.
Yes please post more pictures of the TT conversion, would like to see how it's done with the transverse engine.

Patience please! Past week I sold all my redundant parts it was a lot of work communicating with buyers (they all ask if I have any more parts) and packing and shipping stuff. I sold stuff cheap (bosch fuel distributer 300, 4 brake calipers 100, etc) but I'm glad it's all out of the way and I have some cash in hand. The coming months though all I need to buy is cans of bodyfiller and sanding paper.

Hey, Cliff! My first post on Ferrari Chat, I did a search and came up with this tread, really impressive.

Here a couple pictures I have of the twin turbo, its in a stage of rebuild now. Was 2 liter V8 with 7:1 compression, I have raised the compression to 8.5 to one, using 3 liter heads and boring out to 2.9 liter. I used the same IHI 555 turbos that the 288 used. The new motor will have individual throttle bodies with sheet metal plenum using water to air intercooler.

Sorry this is all the pictures I have on this computer, I did this conversion back in the early 90s.
