Do I ever Carlo. By the way, thanks for the tip on the exhaust switch. What a fun gadget but to be honest ... I have it on open all the time :) :)

I just love how she rumbles when getting off the gas. While cruisin' at low speed or during a full stop at the traffic lights, with the valves open she rumbles like a thunderstorm. Moreover, driving at low speeds with the valves open is more than OK in the cabin.

Sorry for the delayed updates but I have been very busy (driving my car and with work). Well, here are my two cents:

    - HGTE pack is well worth the money IMO. Makes the car better from a driver's perspective. I have a much better feel of the car especially when driven hard and under heavy braking.

    - This car can certainly be used for every day driving ... no matter what they say.

    - Gearbox is stunning. Under full load (F1 superfast setting) impressive to say the least. While driving along with traffic not jerky but smooth. Waayyy better than the SMG on my M6 and better than the F1 on my F430.

    - This is a true GT when you want it to be (the seats are awesome and I immediately found the perfect driver's position despite the fact that I'm 1 meter 97 cm). Tracking the car with a helmet is no problem even for people my size.

    - The build quality and eye for detail are ... close to perfection.

    - The 599 is an eye catcher (but we all knew that :) )

    - My wife simply loves this car (from a passenger point of view and from a driver's point of view). Yes, she drives it (I know, I'm lucky as I'm married to a car nut ... only one of the reasons I married her ;) )

    - The car perfectly answers what I was looking for. Race atmosphere in the interior is there because of the CF, the alcantara, the harness, ... . The exterior is perfect as I wanted it. Not as "flashy" as my Bianco Avus F430 but this car in Grigio Ferro Met is just mind blowing. Pictures don't do this colour justice. One needs to see it in the flesh.

Well ... enough said for now. Some pictures (she was dirty but hey, she was built and bought to be used :) ) taken outside.

I have a session planned (but we need nice weather) together with a fellow F driver and his 550 Maranello. Plan is to take pictures with a clean car in a nice setting ... if only the weather could get better.

... Last but not least ... thanks for building cars like this Ferrari. Keep them comin' ;)

    Cheers,

    M

I'll be taking her out for a "walk" on Saturday to a place where you see other F's from time to time :) I just hope we aren't going to have another storm. Don't mind the rain but I hate the sand for my cars.

Thanks Gene. I hope yours will be there soon. Keep us posted. You have nice days up ahead. Taking delivery of it, starting it for the first time and driving away in it is just ... a great feeling.

    Enjoy every minute of it.

    Cheers,

    M

M - Thanks for the review. I see you opted for the Grigio dirt option. Excellent choice! :D She looks great in open light! Looking forward to your next shoot.

M, I can't get over how good your 599 looks! The color is stunning, as is the interior, but the little details like the centre caps, CF mirrors and door handles really 'make' this car IMO.

Thanks for sharing your first impressions and enjoy the car in good health!

You're welcomed. The 599 wasn't planned as a daily driver. I have my M6 to take care of daily business but the 599 will be driven very often.

Nevertheless, the M6 may be on the way out and the 599 may take over the M6's job and something else will come with a V12 to be used for track / fun purposes. This will be decided in the next couple of weeks ;)
