Ferrari, Ferrari, and Ford? Sorry, am I missing one? I don't believe the Lola, at least this one, raced LeMans. But I am tired........my carbon fiber vest is not ready yet, so its a b*t*h ducking those bullits. ;} Gotta love the Facebook LeMans video......but I guess that ages me, I remember that race.
I don't think any channels in the states show the race. There is a video section in the playstation 3 game "gran turismo 5 Prologue" that has 1080p HD footage of that race and some other car programs. Another option is this torrent site for cars and auto racing called www.racing-underground.com. That site has onboard cams and race footage of tons of races going back decades. Hope this helps.
They broadcast some of it over the internet through the ADAC homepage, then through some other sites (justin.tv, etc) for the rest. I also listen through radiolemans.com. I use racing-underground for a lot of other things we don't get in the US. I still can't believe they don't televise even parts of the 24h races in the States. Watch the threads in the "Other Racing" subsection here during races. We usually have one going for each race and can link places to watch it from.
The word is spreading... http://www.autoblog.it/post/23511/la-ferrari-p45-di-jim-glickenhaus-alla-24-del-ring-con-un-motore-v8
the 24 h of Nürburgring has at least a 24 h party going on around the track. best BBQ, camping and honest fans and motorsport. if you want to do this you should be there already on thursday to get a good site, then you have a 4 days party. if you want to have champagne and the other stuff then go to Monaco
When I go to see a race, honestly, parties aren't my priority. I go for the race itself. IMO, going to one race rather than another due to the "parties" is silly. You don't need a race to party.
Great to hear Jim, really looking forward to the development of this race car...the renderings are beautiful !
Thanks! We're about to travel 13,000 miles to meet with potential Sponsors. Keeping fingers crossed. Marketing team on board: www.m2studios.us www.caviarluxury.com Congrats on F 40 Reunion Next August in Monterey!!! You did a great job setting that up!
Jim: Sounds like you're going 1/2 around the world. Good luck. Again, I've got a pretty good inventory of sponsor agreements, etc. if you need them. I'm sure you've got great lawyers back there, but some of the things I've put into these agreements aren't too obvious, and were learned the hard way.... Art
I don't think you will have much trouble finding partners for this...I suspect anyone that dithers will regret it in the end. As for the F40 Reunion, its definitely a team effort and the spirit is high...everyone wants this to be about the cars and making new friendships. Good Luck
Our marketing data is starting to come in. It's really quite interesting. Keep in mind this number doesn't capture all impressions by any means. How many impressions would you think P 4/5 has gotten? Also keep in mind it wasn't an advertising campaign that generated this number simply web/and magazine exposure.
Thanks for posting that! The announcers must have repeated 50 times "this is a 24hr race not a sprint race!!!" lol I had a passenger lap of the Ring in a Manthey prepared 996 GT3 with 440hp. The owner also has a Mac F1 and Carerra GT among other cars, but I think he loved the GT3 440MR the most. Manthey has their shop is about 1/2 mile from the track so they certainly know a thing or two about how to set-up a car for the Nordschliefe. Very much looking forward to Jim and the P4/5C mixing it up with the big boys in 2011! Best of luck.
I saw a picture of your P 4/5 being used in an ad on Facebook. If I see it again i will try and get a screenshot.
