If I ran this site, it would be much different--I KNOW how to talk to people without making them feel belittled...My opinion it is very unprofessional for the owner of a company, boss, CEO, etc to speak down or threaten people... Happens here alot.....Read above post #24---Owner asking does he want the users membership pulled?? VERY unprofessional in my opinion.... If 3-4 people rant and rave over things then maybe it is the people--If 20-30 rant and rave over something--Maybe there is actually something to it......
so you are full of it? all talk, no walk? you know, considering the core of users think the quality of FerrariChat is the highest it has ever been as we're constantly working on things and improving them, then it leads me to believe that you are hanging out with the type of users and you are of the user yourself that when you leave it improves things.
so if you ran the site you would allow commercial spammers and shillers, thus having no sponsors at all. you would also let users try to destroy the community for whatever hidden agenda they have. yes, you would be great. well, we're only at a few and even if there were 200-300 it would be a small percentage of the overall community. Rob, there are very few of you with an axe to grind because I don't let you get something for nothing. the majority of users appreciate the site isn't full of spam and sponsors appreciate they get value for their hard earned dollar. your socialist few of FerrariChat doesn't work.
Guys would you consider taking this off line? I came looking for info and ran in to a soap opera.... I don't want to take sides but do love looking at the site many times a day but hate scrolling down through the non value posts that hi-jack a thread. Just my thoughts, maybe moving this subject to a PM or a thread topic that allows people not to walk into the fire fight when all they are looking for is info on Ferrari's.
No I would not allow spammers, but when a user posts a site or something from another long time great user, I would speak to him BEFORE I pulled the plug on a thread and caused a bunch of chaos... As a police officer I have learned over the years that I can get my answers 90% of the time by speaking with people, very few times do I need to pull my gun or taser. Talk is very powerful if done right----In my opinion some of the Mods here need to learn that important life lesson, talk to people the same way you want to be spoken too..... Dave Helms is not some newbie or some first post user. If someone posted a thread about his site or another long time users site, I would look into the matter BEFORE pulling thread. That is the case here quite often. Mods close threads, delete posts, etc without getting to the bottom of the issue first. Not sure what the "get something for nothing" comment means.....As a Mod, I continued to pay my full subscription price and never asked for it free.... I asked for a discount on a sponsership after being a Mod for awhile here because of the free Mod work I was doing to help better the site. Didn't think I was out of line or asking too much at all, I guess I was. People who help me, I want to help back--that is just the way I was raised......I wouldn't say that is something for nothing, but what I got was nothing......

I think there are hundreds on here thinking the same as you Rob. Unfortunately money does get the better of some people. There may be thousands of members here but there are only hundreds that are actual F-car owners. Its those people that make this site what it is and its those same people that are standing behind Dave Helms. If the subsections that have absolutely nothing to do with F-cars were gotten rid of then most of the trolls and idiot mods would probably leave with them.

Tag teaming? I speak what I want on my own free will--I don't need anyone else to tag team along with....I never asked anyone in that section to jump on board with me. not necessary, after getting beat up all the time I'm highly suspicious when anyone is nice. Dave and I have settled things, but although that is over and this thread is good, Rob and Frank are using this as an opportunity against FerrariChat. they saw the open door and it was closed when they got here, so trying to bust it down.
commercial signatures are not allowed, sponsors pay a high multiple of a Rossa for things like a commercial signature. I'll have to go through old communications, but fact is you get some sponsor perms for price of a Rossa. We obviously came to a disagreement at some point because I didn't want to give you as much as you wanted. Moderator entitled you to Rossa perms for free, it was your choice to continue subscribing and I appreciate it, but then now it feels like a setup where you planned all along to rub it in my face when convenient.

Rob--That is why I asked Dave M. about the signature beforehand. I still have the email where he said it would be ok. At one time I had it in my name area and when I stopped being a Mod you told me to take it off, so I did immediately. Not sure what you mean by "you didn't want to give me as much as I wanted" - I never asked for any specific amount off of a sponsership-Never did I do that. I asked for a discount and left it at that and to your best judgement. And yes, when it was time to renew, I renewed like I normally did. In doing so, it erased my Mod powers. I informed you and you told me it was free as a Mod. Yes, I told you no big deal I would continue to pay like normal. I didn't think $50 is a big deal and wasn't worried about it. Has nothing to do with being setup, I am not that type of person. I just am the type to not sit in a corner and cower. When I see something in my eyes is not right I stand up to it. Maybe it is my job that has made my this way, can't do my job by being scared to speak up and talk to people...

However, the presence of that weapon, and your ability to arrest or detain that person with whom you are speaking adds influence in the conversation. I've had several exchanges over the years with the police, hell, I'm married to a former Fed, and I know they come in all shapes, sizes and levels of professionalism too. But, they all have one thing in common, a gun, and the authority to detain. We don't have that here. It's not an apples and apples comparison. Robbie. Do you know how many threads there are like this here in any given day? we're trying to handle maybe a half dozen different issues each day. Some, based on history and experience, get treated differently than others. Rob handled this one in a couple hours, never hid the info, and got it back on track. NO HARM, NO FOUL, until the guys not directly involved at all, had to jump up and down screaming about the inequity of it all. Looks to me like you both have an ax to grind, and are picking this particular thread to excise some old demons. Not touchin' this one, but I think all mods should be paid $400 an hour. DM
