Personally, I think the front plate treatment is the best part :)

It is one of the best looking 348s I have seen.

Yep, I had just gotten a new targa top, a sick set of Cargraphic 19" Wheels and a Tubi, but I couldn't help but get caught up in the price drop of some other cars I had my eye one. Ended up trading it on a 550. Love the 550, but for what I got on trade, should've also kept the 348. Big mistake...

Wow, that's it #80 - before I owned it though! What issue is that (I have them all except for 2 since about 1985?)

When I got it, it didn't have the lip on it, so I added a carbon fiber front lip.

...just rubbing salt in the wound now ;)

I sold most of the goodies already, although ironically I actually did just post a set of Hill 25mm spacers and a car cover today.

Could that car possibly be the Carl Lewis 348 SS.
I saw that particular car for sale in the Houston area back in the late '90s.
IIRC, his was a Silver SS Targa.

Terrific. Could you post the exact reference of your wheels. What's the size of your tyres?

Those are 18" BBS 360 Challenge wheels. Not sure of the exact tire size he is using.

Yes, I believe it is. When I was much, much younger, Cascade Porsche, which was near where I grew up between Akron/ Cleveland, Ohio had Carl Lewis' car for sale when it was almost new (probably 1994 or 5.) I really loved it (I think they were asking $105k at the time.)

When I saw this car, I was pretty sure it was his, but I couldn't remember if his was a speciale or not, but I only know of one other Argento one (non-Speciale with black rockers.) It had spent most of it's life owned by a doctor in Pa., then it got auctioned at Herhsey and eventually Lamborghini of Houston bought it from the new buyer who was in for more repairs than he realized and I bought it from them. It still needed allot of work when I bought it (more than I realized), but the engine and tranmission were great - perfect compression/ leakdown, but $22k later at Wide World and the rest of the issues were sorted (major service, a/c compressor, seat belt motors/ tracks, radio, rear window, sagging door hinges etc.)

Like I say, shoulda kept it...

    Cool

I do remember seeing it in Houston, then.
I am sure his was an SS, as I had seen it advertised in the DuPont Registry as such.
