Hello! I've discovered an interest in Ferraris, particularly in F430 Scuderias, so I decided to join a Ferrari Forum. FerrariChat appears to be the most active and fairly moderated, so here I am. I live in College Station, TX and work at Texas A&M University (like everybody else here...). I live a few miles away from Texas World Speedway, and I occasionally see Ferrari of Houston/Risi Competition there when they are testing or hosting customers.

You have a nice collection of cars already. I wanted to drive a TDI Toureg and the dealer was always offering to give it to me on loan but it was magically never there when I arrived.

Welcome to FChat fellow Texan. I've noticed that the NASCAR section of TWS has been repaved, saw it in a friend's track day video on the 2.9. I was told the high banked corners were falling apart & deemed unsafe. Can you provide any info on the track repair?

Welcome to FChat Bob! Just talked with another new user from College Station a few weeks ago, forgot their username. I go to College Station often for racing and also Grandma lives there. I will actually fly into Coulter Field next Friday for overnight trip to see family. I'll let you know next time I'm racing.

Not repaved, exactly. The asphalt was heaving in NASCAR turns 3-4, so they ground down the high spots, and re-surfaced it with rejuvenator last January. The rejuvenator is black, and is what you see in the video. Turns 1-2 and front/back straights are fine. Turns 3-4 still need more work. We run the track Miatas around the oval, no problem, but they top out around 110 MPH. I have not found a clean line around 3-4 that I would run my Turbo on at full speed. I regularly run the rest of the oval at 160 MPH.

Cool! Hope to see you at TWS soon! If your niece joins the Texas A&M Sports Car Club, she can earn free track days at TWS.

I know Bart from Stillwater, I was studying Architecture, he was studying EE, wound up in computer science, taught at College Station until last year I think. He was carrying punch cards while we were trying to figure out slide rules. Seems like yesterday.

Dr. Childs was/is a good man. Don't remember the course title but it was some sort of seminar class. Computer Science Dept was under Industrial Engineering at that time. We had an interesting collection of profs.
