Hey Gary, What about this color? Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
HOLY COW!!! what a crazy color!!! nice suggestion but i am kinda stuck on an old 350gt color "Rosso alfa" Love to see it on something > Ferrari calls it rosso barchetta Kinda like an oxblood Having said all this when it finally goes in for paint i will have my painter doo all the espada samples to try and sway me back Gary
More seriously, take a look at this red-orange one, what do you think? Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
Depending on how bold it is that sounds great. Maybe a more subtle version? It works with your present interior color I think? Are you sticking with Espada or Lamborghini only colors Gary? Maserati had a copper color on the Bora that was pretty darn nice. Two serial no.s before my car #1048 so 1044 had it with a very unusual interior color as well. I'll see if I can find it. Bob S. Here you go, #1034 has the same color combo and some very nice pictures of it are posted on Fchat. You could contact the poster as he's in Ontario so maybe the car is in Canada as well? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137741522&postcount=190
Now that IS insect green! It's almost Miura wild. I think you'd have to dress in period clothes of all white with gold chains and white shoes to drive that one! Chest toupe optional ... ;>)) It also has the black instruments pod that I've seen on a number of the SII cars from the middle to late range. Bob S.
You couldn't go wrong with metallic copper - look at Brian's CT - last real lambo - absolutely beautiful!!
Sounds like you were put though the ringer with the head on that engine Patrik. I've heard about other people having such issues on these engines and using the vacuum impregnation of a sealer to fix porosity. What exactly was leaking? After all that work with such good results aren't you going to miss it? Or maybe it's a relief? Bob S.
Gents ... here goes engine out carbs rebuilt, points, wires , valves, seals, (where no seal has gone before) ,seats good and confirmed done in steel already. cams good new chains, crank bearings , thrust bearings pistons , rods and rings done already and still good. rad , new water pump .. oh yes gaskets and more gaskets everywhere gaskets . 38 year old NOS ansa packs !! with stickers (Uber cool) headers ceramicoated, resonator pipes good enough for just a respray. cam covers newly crinkled ( uber uber cool) clean up and sympathetic respray to all areas under bonnet. and now the bad news >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Its F...ing snowing with salt on the roads so a test drive will have to wait! Gary 8394
Patience ... ;>) So do you want to drive and finish sorting it next or are you going right into paint and interior? So when it's presentable can we see some engine shots? BTW, I know it needed head gaskets but did they ever figure out why. That car had a bunch of work done on it (before Bobileff) in the not too distant past correct? Have you been following the thread over on VLG about the valve stem seals? Bob S.
the water pump was ceased and therefore we suspect along with time caused the head gasket to go . I will take a look at the VLG stuff but negitating that websitre is the ****s Gary
Really? Try and find any technical info on this website, fuggetaboutit. If you want information that's the one to go to. Following the new topics as they come in on a daily basis helps. Also, if people wouldn't just grab a thread and diverge all over the place it would help but hey we all do that. Start at message 47890. Jack, who knows a thing or two about these engines, has had some interesting adventures lately. Message 47890. Here: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/VintageLambo/message/47890 So what happened to the water pump? It looks like you meant it seized? It's shaft driven so that sounds catastrophic? So now you have to keep it used regularly to prevent such things Gary. Better shovel that driveway ... ;>) Bob S.

Lamborghini water pumps are quirky but the only time I've seen one seize was when it was assembled incorrectly. The shaft broke the first time the engine was started. The VLG website has a lot of interesting stuff.
Hey Doc, I found what we were looking for, it's our mystery Espada. The one that really made me love Espadas for the first time...and I think this one did the same for you. I really would like to know if this car is still around. He drove it all the time including in the snow here in Toronto! The boys at Leny's may know...
