George Wendt was on ESPN radio this morning to promote his new book "Drinking with George: A Barstool Professional's Guide to Beer"...

    link: (http://books.simonandschuster.com/Drinking-with-George/George-Wendt/9781439149584)

"Will Rogers once said he never met a man he didn't like. I feel the same about beer.

George Wendt and beer have shared a lot over the years: good times, great stories, useless trivia, and a successful show business career. In Drinking with George, Wendt invites readers to crack open a cold one and pull up a seat at the bar as he celebrates the indelible, intoxicating beverage.

Through personal stories and fascinating facts, Wendt delivers an ode to beer and all its irresistible peculiarities. In between spinning hilarious and frank tales of his own imbibing adventures -- from taking a first sip of his grandfather's Bud as a child in Chicago to a beer-fueled impromptu performance with Woody Harrelson and the U.S. Women's Synchronized Swimming Team -- he leaves no stone unturned in his quest to reveal and relish every detail about his favorite beverage.

What's the real difference between lager, stout, and ale? How do you convert your lady into a beer-lover? How many different ways are there to say "drunk"? What do you do when your beer is warm and you want to drink it now? Wendt answers all of these questions and more as he explores the vast cultural history of brews and tackles basic bar theory.

The next best thing to a barstool and a pint, Drinking with George is all the fun -- without the hangover."

Had a few Fuller's ESB yesterday. Very nice!

For a pils/lager, Zywiec is the best. A Polish lager...

I also like Flying dog brewery's beers!

But - to me a beer is better in the right environment. Sitting in an out door hot tub in Whistler after a day of heli skiing while it is snowing heavily, a cold Kokanee is heavenly!

In Vietnam last spring, the 333 was wonderful on our terrace...

A Guinness tastes best in Ireland, of course...

In addition to vehicle dynamics, I also enjoy beer. I think I'd recommend Otter Creek Copper Ale for an everyday thing...Maredsous Tripel for something more premium.

Oh, if you haven't tried Lagunitas IPA, go buy some. And enjoy.

Has anyone mentioned Alagash? Brewed in Portland Maine - very tasty, it is a meal unto itself.

Sweet. There's a liquor store up the street from me that gets those holiday packs in. I'll have to hit them up this weekend. :D

I enjoyed a La Roja yesterday. Jolly Pumpkin does such a great job.
I love sours, but have never had one with such an interesting yeast character combined with a dry oaky finish. A very unique and a nice treat.

The Luciernaga (firefly) and Oro de Calabaza from Jolly Pumpkin are also excellent.

Also had my avatar beer (brewed in 06) on the Thanksgiving! What a way to give thanks.

I just picked up a keg of Stone 13th Anniversary Ale. One of the best beers I've ever had.

Thank you for the tip I will try to find some Stone around here.

My daughter won me this at her school's Christmas open house.

Should I save it for a few years or drink it now?

.....we spent Thanksgiving with one of our kids in Asheville, NC and stopped in at a beer and wine only pub.. Our bartendress quizzed me on what kind of cocktails I like, I told her aged dark rum....she recommended Kasteel Donker (initially I thought it was some kind of joke)...

    This stuff IS awesome!
