Thanks Jim, I think (hope) I have a line on a completely enclosed race trailer that a freind of mine here uses for his sprint car. If not, I have been offered my choice of about a dozen dove-tails. There is always Uhaul, too. I'm going to be there, regardless.

    Thanks again!!

ABSOLUTELY GREAT NEWS-THE FINAL PIECE FELL INTO PLACE THIS MORNING!!!!!

We will now have a police escort from the staging area onto the base. I really needed this because of the event size and just the ability to move this many cars unobstructed through the city quickly.

I'm out. had a big client call me, have to do a couple shows Saturday. On the bright side, i have a little more money to use for the donations now! Enjoy the event everyone. Thank you Don and Carolyn for the time you put into this, as well as all the participants. It's good to know there are so many people that are quick to join up for a great cause. I will look forward to being there next year though. Drive careful and watch your six guys and gals...

I will be there, looking forward to it. Thanks for putting this together. I attended the one a couple years back at TMS and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I couldn't just read about how much effort you've put into this and not participate. It sounds like a great cause and a fun time too. Besides, it's 'in my back yard'. Thanks!
    I'm bringing the blue Gallardo.

I have been reading this thread for almost a month. Made me join FChat. It looks like this is going to be a huge event. I am betting 200 cars. What a crowd.

He came to the indoor cart races 5 or 6 years ago in his 360, remember? I think it had a Fuchs exhaust. ;)

Btw, anyone that has 2 way radios like Motorola Talkabouts, it might be a good idea to bring them. I've been on plenty of runs & having these come in very handy. Be sure to charge them the night before & have them ready. We'll figure what channel to be on at the driver's meeting.

This is spectacular you guys. I was going to get maps printed up tomorrow AM, but with the late interest I will wait until Friday about 3PM. So that gives everyone who is interested about a day and a half to make up their minds. If you want to do this -no problem but I do need an accurate count for the maps. I am also sick and tired of retyping this list all the time so if there are any new people I am just going to start an add on list.

Make sure that you all have a full tank of gas and that you check the air in your tires.

At this point I am not sure exactly how we will launch you guys but probably in groups of 20. (There is no way I could release all of you simultaneously on the poor unspecting drivers in Ft. Worth-they would be traumatized for life.) If so that is 7 flytes currently-so we will need to launch the 1st flyte at 9:30AM. It takes 1HR and 38 minutes to do the long route and 1HR and 30 minutes to do the short route at the posted speed limit. That will put the first flyte at the staging area about 11AM and the last flyte about 11:35. That will give us about 10 minutes to make sure everyone is there, pick up the Police escort and move onto the base.

Now getting onto the base is no simple procedure because there is a guard gate which we have to pass through and this is a functioning full bore Military Facility. So when you sign the release form you will get a yellow dot to apply to the upper left hand side of the windshield. This lets the guards know that you are with the toy run. I will check everyone at the staging area to make sure you have one or if it blew off tell me and I will give you a replacement. If you DO NOT have the yellow dot they will stop you, you will have to give them your ID and tell them who (person) you are going to see--you can't answer that question so guess what? In addition you have just held up everybody else!

Now for the really serious stuff and I am SERIOUS!! This is in no way a competition event because it was never designed or intended to be so. So when we are on the run let's make sure we all use our heads. We have Jerry Mize with Speciality Carriers standing by so that we can extract one of our people quickly in the event there is a problem. As much as I like Jerry we DON'T want to call him!!
Secondly, about half of this run is curvy road with traffic and lots of double yellow lines-don't do something you will regret later.
Third, if you are in the first couple of groups PLEASE remember there maybe 100 cars behind you and if you go blowing around some turn at the speed limit X 1.5 you are going to incurr the wrath of the local constabulary and they are going to be watching out for anything that looks suspicious after they have given you your ticket. Which means you will be late to the staging area and the ones that followed you may not be able to enjoy the run.
Fourth, Carolyn and I have done our darndest to keep you guys away from the urbal sprawl, but toward the end of the run you will be on some three lane roads through some developments-please heed the speed limits in these areas.
This will be the last big run of the year so let's make it a good one!;)

Here is the official add on list (cause I am tired of re-typing the old one)

    Richard Nichols & Rosa
    Justin-in newly acquired 348
This now makes 137 cars actually it is still at 135 because 2 people dropped of the main list.
