I use my 997 C4S as my DD in Chicago. 40.000 miles in sun and snow. BUT , the engine was replaced this summer due to a faulty cylinder wall. Car was eating more oil than a fleet of Alfas and would have eventually caused engine failure so P replaced it. Wasnt very happy with service but at least it was covered by the warranty. Other than that, great car but expensive tires ...

I have a 997 C2S as a DD; almost 9k miles in seven months. No issues so far other than using a lot of oil (not as much as Andrew!) and a healthy tire appetite, made worse by four track days.

My brother does the same with his 997 C2, minus the track days, and somewhat less mileage.

All of my Porsches have been DDs, including my new GT3, the best of the lot.

I've done close to 200k miles in 944s since the 1990s. They have been great in the hottest and coldest, driest and snowiest weather. Have taken countless long trips with them where relying on the car was essential. Many happy memories. One of these days I'll switch to a Cayman. :)

Its not a Ferrari in that other than a very few examples they are not "collector cars".
If your not daily driving them your wasting money and opportunity.

997 dd here too. Depending on where I go, I might take the truck.

(hard to not drive a Porsche when the keys are layin' on the table! ;))

2008 Carrera S Cab. One of the best cars I've ever had!

Had her for about a year and a half. 12k miles. No problems to date!

So difficult to find a good 944/951 for sale. It seems that all of the good 944s are in the clutches of their long-time, enthusiast owners. :)

Right. Like mine, Tony. This is the only Porsche I've ever owned. It really is a nice car....the Lindsey Racing RWHP Package makes it even nicer! ;)

My SC Coupe was my daily driver for 3 years here in Phoenix. Very comfy and fun.
The guy who had it before me also used it as a dd for about 6 years.

My '09 Cayman is my main man. The PDK makes it even better.

For dry weather, I could see a 356 being fine. I recently drove a '63 356 Super 90 and was surprised at how pleasant it was.

I have a 86 911 whaletail coupe which I used as a daily driver for about 8 years with no major problems. I looked forward to going to and from work evey day, have a little fun and unwind from office stress. Stopped using it this past summer as the Florida heat just wore on me as we all know these ac systems don't blow ice cold air. May sell her, but If I do, it will be like saying goodbye to a great friend!
