I'm hoping for the best but given his history I'm dubious. Even when things are going well he has a habit of opening his mouth and making trouble for a team. But as I said I'm hoping.
I don't think you've ever addressed the issues posted to you. Backed into a corner, without question.
+1! I am going to puke if he does one of those stupid bird dances standing on top of the Ferrari. He's talented no doubt, but i was never a fan of his. If he wins great. Personally I'm pulling for Massa more than Alonso...
I briefly thought about following your example and childishly asserting my personal wealth and success. But I decided against it.
Actually if I remember correctly, and I do, it was you that went down the route of "he has more this year then you'll ever have", and when that shot failed, you moved on to others. The common theme is they are all personal attacks, just like the one above directed at Remy. I've observed that people get nasty and defensive when you hit their soft spot. I have a feeling we won't be hearing all about Kimi's awesomeness (not even in WRC) next year
I have a dilemma, because I can't decide who I dislike more - Alonso or Massa. I hope Alonso beats Massa, but has a few blow-ups at the team that make him look like a fool (like when he accused Renault of sabotaging his car). I think that is exactly what will happen - he will beat Massa handily, and will also have a few blow-ups. The only positive side for me, as someone who likes Ferrari, is that the team will be infinitely better off than with Kimi, who got smoked by Massa the last 2 years.
It should be a very good year for Ferrari with these two drivers. I like Massa because he has always done whatever is required, without trashing his team, or competitors. I do take offense to how people call Massa's fans derogatory names (m******* etc); that's low-grade....
Ermm well if Alonso and his supposed development skills brings the Ferrari up to be a winning car, will he keep it to himself or share it with Massa. Or will Luca intervene. This was the problem with LH at Mclaren, FA couldn't stand the fact LH was blowing his doors off with a car he set up. Myself I'am happy Ferrari will now be in with a chance. . I liked him best at Renault first time round. As of now I'm nonchalant about FA.
Er, not 100% true. He could not stand the fact that LH intensionally stuffed up the pre-arranged qualifying process to deny Alonso his chance AFTER Alonso had played his bit for LH. That is what caused the kettle to boil over. I believe Alonso is more of a team player than many think. You don't win 2xWDC without thinking team, because it takes the whole team to deliver not just the driver and a few setup changes. If he was a prick, the team would not have delivered as well as they did. Pete
Firstly: Why so belligerent? He still is for me. I'm really apprehensive about the team dynamics for next season. These pre-emptive warnings from Ferrari about "everything will be fine" actually make me even more worried, as if Alonso has already rubbed someone up the wrong way behind closed doors. I'd like to see Ferrari do well and take the Constructor's Championship, and I'd like to see Massa take the Driver's Title... but if Massa doesn't take the WDC then I'd prefer it to go to Vettel, and if he doesn't get it then Button or Hamilton. All the best, Andrew.
So it had nothing to do with FA trying to bribe his engineers with cash bonuses to get his car faster then LH's then. Fact is FA didn't like being beaten by a rookie which is fair enough, who can blame him, hence Flav giving him cannon fodder that would sink as low as to driving in a wall to keep him happy. Your probably right about the tipping point, but lets not go there about spygate.
Alonso, Massa and Ferrari. I hope this combination of Latin coglioni/cojones mofos deliver us a world champion and a constructor title.
That was a very safe assumption. And it was a bull's-eye judging by all the subsequent voluminous repetitive ramblings.
Does it really matter if he keeps winning? Was Schumi a nice guy? Was Senna a nice guy? I've gotten the impression that Ferrari wanted someone really outgoing and verbal, I don't recall anyone wanting specifically a nice guy. Alonso's biggest challenge is that Ferrari is expecting him to magically develop a winning car -and then race it- with largely the same dufi who developed and campaigned the last one. I reckon it takes some serious design and engineering talent. And above all it takes some management talent to put it all together. If Alonso can pick up all the slack in the team, good for him. And no, it wasn't all about the rules last time around.
Yes it does. You get to the point in life where winning at any cost no longer makes sense. BTW His whining has had negative effects on his past teams and in today's PR oriented environment that type of image is not what sponsors are looking for.
So why did Ron stop it then. Top and bottom of it: IF FA opens his clap trap at Ferrari and starts whining he is a grade 1 prick.
Don´t worry, Alonso won´t stirr the sh*t like he did in the past: he knows that if he f*cks up this chance, this time he has nowhere to run.
Usually when you say something that hurts, people get bent out of shape. Sort of like how you've gotten nasty and lashed out at everyone who has pointed out the obvious - that Kimi got fired from Ferrari for sucking. That riled you up, very obviously... everything since has been just venom. I think it is hilarious that not more than 2-3 days ago you are attacking based on Kimi being in F1 and anyone else being a moron by comparison for thinking they could know anything about anything. Then when Domenicali says what we all know to be true - that Kimi is fast in a perfect car, but useless otherwise - you flip and attack Domenicali for being a moron who doesn't know anything. I am sure I am not the only one who laughed out loud - the irony was just too priceless not to say something about it. Like I said, I'm sure we'll be hearing all about Kimi dominating WRC next year... NOT.
I think Ron didn't want that sort of divisiveness going on within his team. I wouldn't have either. Alonso wanted to pay his guys to get something extra, and Ron wanted them both to get everything possible. That's what pissed off Alonso so much... he wanted to be special. The claims posted that Ferrari were in error for not providing a car commensurate with Kimi's skill are frankly crap. In the same car, Massa kicked ass, including Kimi's. 2010 will be very eye opening. If Alonso schools Massa, then the one who comes out looking worst is Kimi - especially if he has a predictably crappy year in WRC. If Alonso and Massa are equal, it makes Massa look like a superstar. I think Alonso is one of the very best drivers on the grid. Kimi has the raw speed, but is lacking in many other areas. The problem is, he wants to get paid to be an MS-level driver, but he's a sub-Massa level driver in terms of results. Ergo, no job in F1.
I guess I'm not sure whether you were speaking from your personal or Ferrari's perspective. I can understand the personal one but I've never seen any signs of that at Ferrari. Santander was. Teflonso is very media savvy and good at brushing off those unsavory instances like dandruff from his shoulder. I don't necessarily like it but I've gotta respect it. And let's face it, a little bit of whining is nothing compared to Schumi's on-track antics that put lives at risk several times. He didn't lose any sponsors over those AFAIK.
