Have any of you F Chatters put a clear film bra on your California?

What brand of film do you recommend? What parts of the car are the most important to protect (full hood, wheel arches, door handle areas, lower sills, side view mirrors, anything else)?

What do you think is as reasonable cost for this? I've heard prices anywhere from about $1,200 to about $2,500.

My dealer installed the clear bra on my Cali. It was 3M film and the job was "average" to be complimentary. The dealer indicated mine was the first Cali they did and he suggested I wait until they have a few more installations before I have it fixed.

It has several creases and bubbles that need repairing. Other than those issues it looks fine. I hope the repair can be done in the spring.

I did not have the hood covered, I stopped at the front bumper. I didn't like the line across the hood that I had seen on other jobs. The wheel openings are covered as well as the area on the back deck where the top sits.

    The cost was approx $1,000.

Had mine done. Full fenders, full hood, full bumper, full sills, headlights and mirrors. Installer used VentureShield. It is the only film currently around that comes in 60" widths. That's how he was able to do the full hood so I had no hood line. The install was good, not excellent. It was not the fault of the installer though. Since the cali is so new, the kits are not quite right yet. He had to do a lot of streching on the film. He is going to research other pattern guys to see if someone has a better pattern. I want a full wrap on the fenders, hood and bumper so no lines show. He is going to replace it when he finds better patterns. Cost me $1800, but no charge for the redo.

I Had one done as well using Venture Shield. Bumper, full hood, headlights and fenders, rocker panels and mirrors. Cost was about $2500 but It came out really great I have to say. You can't tell it's there unless you really look carefully. No bubbles or creases. It's important to find the right installer, which also means you may pay a little more for someone who's really good. Try to check out some of their work before committing.
