    Hi Islero Folks,
about this Islero offered for US$ 69.500
    http://gullwingmotorcars.com/inv.php?action=display&autoID=1060

Its VIN is identified : #6012... that means the 4th Islero survivor !!!

you can of course complain about his shape, but I can tell you that for the same price back in 2007 in Netherlands I saw a similar one sold for exactly the same price...so it still worthes to restore these scarce model !

    Ciao,
    Olivier

I went out to look at that Gullwing Motors Islero and here are a few phone photos:

Yikes I am sorry i don't know how to flip photos around. I also have an interior photo...lots of wires hanging loose under there...but it was too dark to come out well. Gullwing Motors, as many of you know, sells crap...even their crap is crap though.

Joe, nice selection of cars, can you compare them to each other for me please, driving wise that is.

    Thanks.

it has to be considered as the 4th survivor in the chronological production sequence !!!
even if it looks bad...it still deserves to be saved !!!

    Hey Joe,

I may have asked you before about comparing how the cars you own drive and perhaps you didn't answer then either...or maybe it is a question buried in a thread. Nonetheless can you please give us a run down of the differences between the cars you show in the picture of your stable a page or two back in this thread? Thanks. Yale

    Hi Olivier,

    Why "4th survivor?" I don't know my Isleros :(

So I'm assuming there was 6000, 6003, 6006, 6009 and 6012. Is that at least correct?

You are correct but #6003 is "missing" in 40 years of action... so as I wrote that's the 4th survivor, #6012 !!!

It should be restored some day.

With the current values of restored Islero cars, the buyer will lose tens of thousands of dollars, by the time the project is finished.

A buyer who wants to obtain good value, should purchase a completed car that is ready to go.

    _____________

On another Lamborghini board, people have even asked about complete Uracco and Jalpa restoration projects.

    Hi Joe,

Since it was originally delivered to Haiti, was it one of Mr. Silvera's cars?

That is a great question! We do not have absolute documentation saying that it is, but we are unaware of ANY other Lamborghini client in Haiti.

We are looking though, and I note that it has always had the Red cam covers indicating a tuned engine (per Zampolli), but no documentation of that either - so far.

Thanks Joe, maybe the factory build sheets would state the name of the customer?

By the way, this is the first time I hear about the red cam covers stating a tuned engine. I am very interested to know more about that. If I remember well, the only time I saw those red cam covers was on Islero 6000. There was even a picture on the factory leaflet.
