Thanks group77racing, you show exactly my point. You gave the facit how to do it. Good and informative.

I said I did not want to comment on it, but I have to clearify the following:

My point it is not bolt on the 360 wheels and do nothing, this will you hurt the feeling of your car. This we both agree on, and I am fine with that.

But to be fair, most Ferrari owners do not have a machine shop in the garage. " ..you must machine 19mm off the rear hub of the 360 wheel to regain the proper offset". (OK i wrote something about the backspace, here you have solved the bearing and the wheel arc problem.) Then there is the ride hight and camber, caster etc. "....simple chassis adjustments without spending a dime." (You are a mechanic right? My mechanics want me to spend a dime when my car just idles outside their shop.... )Shorter bolts, 355 bumper. (Were soon taking hot rodding here. Done as you described it will work, but this takes time and effort. Not just bolting on the wheels.)

That said, when the rear tires are tucked inn under your wheel arches as on your silver beauty, it looks just right. Congratulations on a really beautiful 348 with the right stance.

I think all bases are covered now and people can decide themselves if the want to do it or not. Now people understand what has to be done. And why not share this data: Also, a rear quarter look showing the rear wheel inside the arch and the corrected camber.

So: What is the correct camber on those rear wheels?

Have a good night and this time it is my final post on the subject.

    Greetings from Norway!

I am putting together a list of Ferrari OEM wheel sizes and offsets. Since I seem to have some wheel gurus on this thread, could you check the 348 and 360 numbers for me, please? Will put the 355 numbers in, too, even though off topic for this thread. This list shows why you would like to take 30 mm or so off 360 rear wheel hubs.

    348

    Five Spoke 17”, 5 X 108 mm
    Front 7.5J X 17 ET 49 mm, Rear 9J X 17 ET 68 mm

    355

    Five Spoke 18”, 5 X 108 mm
    Front 7.5J X 18 ET 32 mm, Rear 10J X 18 ET 77.9 mm

    360

    Five Spoke and Modular 18”, 5 X 108 mm
    Front 7.5J X 18 ET 31.5 mm, Rear 10J X 18 ET 39 mm

    Terry,

Here is a spread sheet that has been floating around for a while. I don't claim it is correct, but I do know there is a different offset on the rear of later model 348s (please see chart). You'll notice the rear offset for later 348s (1993 and on) is 43.05mm. I have confirmed this on my 1993 SS.

    group77racing,

Did you use 68mm or 43mm as your rear offset? It looks like 43mm from your pics.

Jerry- Thanks. Will use this to update my list. Some differences I will have to research, but good info on the pre-348 cars, about which I had done little research. Will put a copy of the updated list in here when completed.

360 wheels is THE wheel for a 348. YES even better than the CH wheels.....Oh yes...

Here is my 348 with 360 wheels. I machined the rear offset, changed tire size all around, and did new bolts.

    Hey Lars,

How much did you shave off to get the desired offset?

I belive it was 18mm, but not 100% sure. Without any machine work they sit way to far out IMO.

I am looking to get a set for my 348 Spider. Do I just need to shave off about 19MM on the rear only, do the suspension adjustments, buy new shorter bolts and I should be good to go ??
Will the tires I have work ?
    they are Front 225/40ZR18
    Rear 265/40ZR18
    Thanks,
The cars all look awsome !

Glenn you have the same model year of 348 spider as I do (1995).
My 360 weels simply bolted on with the existing bolts, no shaving etc. and I have been running on them for almost 3 years now without issue and I drive the car pretty hard at times. I love them and the performance/handling improvement is there.

You didn't have to do anything with the rear ??
It looks perfect the way you have it
