Sy, great videos! only downside to filming yourself, you do get to see the your own car in the shot. i would love to see more of that
Thanks guys. Hoping to have my 348 filmed next year. Here's another one uploaded yesterday. It was filmed at the UK's Ferrari Owners Club track day at Silverstone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHY5rlwKnNo Just ahve a few more videos to upload from my archive. After that, it will be more informative stuff about specific models like teh 348, 355 etc
Just uploaded 4 videos of a TVR meet that I was in a few years ago. http://www.youtube.com/user/FgearTV For those that don't know, TVR used to make fast road cars out of fibreglass. They sound great!!!
Short 30 second video of Phil's new Nouvalari exhaust system on his 348. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYTC9YRMHRk These two below I did earlier but can't remember if I posted it up: Various Ferrari exhaus sounds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYKBgEIk_cw Selection of 348 exhausts with decibel meter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9GEm_0EzZ4
Yes I was fine, although marshals and rescue crew suspected a fatality until my swearing proved otherwise. Made me do the strapped to body board thing and off to hospital when they managed to get me out. A through checl only had an old back problem diagnosed. Bit of osteo and fine again. Thanks for concern. And nice to see car open 348 video as well. But a bit of an abrupt end to championship hopes - in 2nd event! A company up north bought it. and bits are for sale - i wouldn't buy too many I am afraid! It was damaged somewhat comprehensively! ending in a 20 foot drop down onto rear before falling onto roof in a stream. Got back in saddle with new 355 and finished season ok. So just sorting for next year. When I will be back! but a little more carefully this time....

Wow, Andrew - that's scary stuff! Were you nervous of getting back into it for the rest of the season? I had my first car totalled when I was hit head-on by a drunk driver who restarted his engine after impact and rammed me off the road into a ditch to get away... my parents loaned me their BMW 5-series for 3 weeks to tempt me back onto the road again as I was a little reluctant to get back to driving. It was a while before I settled down and drove with confidence again. All the best, Andrew.
after this I got a lift back from jersey in a friends new maserati. he then asked me to drive which was a little daunting, but good fun in end. on track at prescott i was again offered drives in other cars and accepted another 348. I felt like I had never driven competively at all at first, well for most of day. So cautious and anxious messed up completely. By end day at least i could get lines and braking right, just slow and had a smile on face again. In new car Im over cautious at times and under strict instructions from home, but getting back into it and by end season was beaten into 2nd by just 3/100s second at curborough so things looking better. We are up at doune again next year in June - now that is an awesome track and very much looking forward to that, see you there?
Good to hear you're easing back into it and enjoying yourself. Hey, Doune sounds fun - I've love to come up for the day! What dates are you in town and competing? All the best, Andrew.
At moment it looks like 19/20th june at doune. a track day (FOC) at knockhill and the foc classic there the following weekend. so i may well make a week of it!
Sounds good, I'll try very hard to make at least one of those events. I'll send you a PM with my mobile number for when you're up here so we can find each other. All the best, Andrew.
Great videos!! Thank you sharing. It's nice to see someone actually driving these cars and enjoying them!!!
Looking at what we were doing again I feel the need to explain why we were doing silly lift off oversteer manoeuvres, but hey ho, it was fun, your right so doesnt really matter!
IF you have never been to Doune I suggest thats the one to go for. Here is my run in the wet and the top 12 run offs. still scares em just looking at it here let alone driving it. Its the mother and daddy of tracks both spectating and driving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRB9LvLkLqw http://www.youtube.com/user/PeteMcD2007#p/a/u/1/n0nw_yyoNUw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64S85YlKmHI
Whoa - that track doesn't leave any margin for error, does it?! Looks terrifyingly exciting. All the best, Andrew.
Trying out some compression testing and uploaded this short clip. Two 355's with a GTR in the middle. I think the quality of the vimeo site is much better than youtube. May start uploading there instead in future. http://www.vimeo.com/8736716 PS. I'll have longer vids from that days filming uploaded soon.
No, I watched it several times but there's absolutely no discernible difference. All the best, Andrew.
Thanks. I was using a new software and was getting stuttering. I uploading another video elsewhere and most people actually couldn't see the problem. You can see it here: http://www.vimeo.com/8720181 The first clip has the stutter every few seconds.
Ah, I see what you're saying now. Actually, in that case, the first format did stutter once at the beginning. I thought that was down to the website loading the video as it was the first few seconds of the clip. In that case, the second has higher quality. As to the image quality once going, there's no difference - that's what I'd been looking for. My mistake. All the best, Andrew.
Here's a comparison between youtube and vimeo of a stradale driveby. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAAoOKzpWlA http://vimeo.com/8741421
