I've got 10" in my backyard in Richmond. I am going to use the air dam on the 575 to clear the driveway.

Stay safe guys, it's supposed to be a historical snowstorm. If you don't have to be out, then don't go out; if you do have to then at least bring out the heavy artillery.

According to NWS the two day snowfall record for December is 12 inches (1932) for DC and 14 inches (1960) for Balt.

From what I see out the window, I think we've already topped that.

No road crews anywhere near the area.

So far so good .... as long as some fool doesn't take down an important power line.

But people around here will still head out onto the roads, in cars that shouldn't even be out in the rain.
Driven by people who are in over their heads driving in good weather.

It's not the EVO in the snow that bothers me -- I bought and used that car in MA snows.
It's the people in civics, sentras, and the odd ka that are half the problem.
The other half are the jacked up mini 4x4s who think they're immune.
(News flash: *EVERYBODY* has four wheel brakes .... for all the good it does.)

(Unkel Al: tell me the one about global warming, again?)
(If the snow takes down a tree branch, I might toss it in the fireplace. ;))

We have about 3 1/2" with slackening accumulation. Just enough to use the blower on after it stops.

I have been away on business for the last 3 weeks straight... All I wanted in the world was to come home today, and now I am stuck in Dallas.

    This sucks...

Sorry Luke, that sucks. Buddy of mine flying back from Afghanastan for leave, may not make it in tomorrow. That sucks too.

Dude, it is a M E S S around here right now. Shoveled twice today on purpose to not kill myself and will have to shovel again tomorrow.

Didn't even take the 4x4 out today due to lack of brains by the other idiots I helped get unstuck in thier Tercel's and Sentra's -- W H O gave these people a driver's license?

Anyway, we have a solid 18" here in Alexandria now with drifts easily to 24". My sliding glass doors to my porch are silly.

IF this is Global warming, than we all need to turn on our Ferraris to heat up the atmosphere some more because this sucks.

Same up here...at 5PM and it still hasn't stopped snowing. I think there was 3 more inches between the time I started clearing off the driveway and the time I finished.

We have every bit of 18 inches of snow on the deck away from the wind. I was out in my Cayenne Turbo for several hours this late afternoon. Just got new Pirelli snow and ice tires and with the Porsche Stability Management system the car is absolutely amazing. You can feel the computer alternately braking a rear tire or a front tire individually to keep the car from oversteer or understeer in the slippery snow. That combined with the ABS and momma you have the best 4 wheel drive vehicle I have ever driven and I have driven 4 wheelers on and off road for years!! Jon in Snowy Delaware

I just took my daughter 6 blocks in a Chevy Trailblazer that I took off of the used car lot today. If I didn't have a SUV I would have never been able to make it. I can't remember this much snow at the Jersey Shore.
