When I first got into Ferraris in Rochester, NY in 1974, I could not believe how many there were. At least two 275 GTBs, one 275 GTB/4, one Daytona Spider, one California, at least two 365 GT 2+2, a few GTEs, a few 330 GT 2+2, a few Dinos, one prototype Daytona Coupe, a 365 GTS, a P-4, a TDF, a GTO, a 275 GTS, a GTC/4 and many more.

One of my closest friends still lives there and has his two Dinos but I wonder what happened to all the rest. I understand that there a some newer models but where are the classics?

What, if any, Ferrari activity is present in the Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse sections of NY State? There actually was a dealer in Buffalo - that's where the Daytona came from.

I left the area in 1989 and have pretty much lost touch.

  2. I live in Syracuse and own 2 ferraris....Not sure about rochester, but the fact that its a larger metro area would lead me to believe that there are some around. There are quite a few in the Syracuse area, I would guess 40-50. The key is that we have 2 places that have the capability to service them..Again, not sure about rochester. One of the reasons I purchased was proximity to service. As far as gatherings, most people, including myself, prefer to keep the info quiet about owning one. As a business owner I prefer to keep that part out of my employees knowledge.

I lived in Rochester 1991-93. We bought a home from Ted Spall. I believe he still builds home there. He had a red Testarossa. He never liked to show off his wealth and rarely drove the Ferrari.

I live in Auburn, NY & have 1985 308QV. To my knowledge myself & a 360 track car are the only Ferraris in town. Who are you using for your service techs in Syracuse? Appreciate the info. Thanks

I live in Buffalo and have an 83 308; my best friend has a 355 Spider (and a Countach); there are a few Ferrari's around; 328 & 360 Spider.
    We need a regional meet!
Btw - what dealer was in Buffalo in the 70's? I can't remember one

My sister's in her last few months of residency at Rochester hospital. She told me the town has a pretty large discrepancy between income levels. People seem to be very well off (the drs, lawyers, business people all congregate in a few gated communities), while the rest are the stereotypical low income families that can never seem to break the cycle. With cheap homes it seems logical people would have some disposable income available for toys like ferraris but that being said I've never seen one up there. in fact even commong luxury cars like bmw, merc, porsche seem pretty rare. the winters really put a damper on things.
