I've had my 'mistress' about a week now and just got her back yesterday from some cosmetic surgery: - Fixed the 3rd brake light - Installed Yoshi Shields - Installed Euro front turn signals (white) - Wet sand and polish / full detail Was a warm, sunny day so I popped the top (immediately after this pic) and went for a long drive down the coast. The car felt completely transformed with the Targa top removed. The sound was even more visceral and I was very pleased with how little wind buffeting there is in the cabin with top off and windows down. Enjoy the pic. PS The yellow 360 coupe (behind me) was on its way to Seattle. Hopefully someone on this board. Looked and sounded gorgeous. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks great! Looking out my window all I see is snow so that drive of yours sounds pretty good right about now
Looks great, enjoy because i just came in after shoveling snow for the last five hours and all i can think of is "CAN'T WAIT TILL SPRING, CAN'T WAIT TILL SPRING"
Here's a few interior shots. The seats and headrests were done about a year ago. The floor mats were done by the same place using the same red stitching. I'm sure not everyone is a fan but I think it (headrests) looks sharp. Thanks all on the compliments! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow beautiful interior. I think I may have asked this but are those sport seats? I know they usually don't have a colored horse but I noticed that some have a horse and some don't. I like the horse by the way. The seats seem to be slightly different. The front of the bottom of the seat looks adjustable.
Thanks Jeff. Based on your questions, I'm starting to wonder if the seats are factory/OEM or not. I guess I just never paid super close attention to the seats in the ones I've looked at or viewed online. Yes, the thigh support cushion is adjustable - love that! Anybody know if this seat was an orderable option or perhaps the seats are aftermarket?
Those seats look like the original seats, maybe they have been recovered? Or maybe that was a factory option? They sure look good, so who cares! Sport seats are carbon fiber with alcantara center sections, adjustable only for tilt. They are rare as hen's teeth and very expensive. They were in the first 355 that I owned.
PLEASE, use some form of protection for your targa top when stored behind the seats. Prior to using the factory vinyl covver, my targa top got hopelessly scratched and scuffed by the seatbacks. In the ended, I needed to have the whole top repainted. The factory cover for your roof is shown here as #28: #28 F355 Roof Outer Trims And available here: 63348200 Complete Roof Overlap There may certainly be cheaper alternatives. I used a big piece of bubble wrap for several months. It was only during an FCA event last summer that I was shamed into buying the correct one. Now, I'm very happy with the factory piece because it clips onto the Tenax snaps correctly and fits like a glove.
Daniel, Thanks very much for the super helpful post. I will definitely order the pair of parts you linked me to. FWIW, the top already has a couple of bad scuff marks but I don't want to do even more damage. I figure I will get it repainted anyway one of these days - so all the more reason to get the proper stowage solutions. Do you if there was a 'stand' available for the targa top? I'd prefer to just leave the thing in the garage. Cheers, Rick
There is no stand that I'm aware of. I also lean mine up in the garage, but constantly worry that it'll get knocked into or something. With a four-year old storing toys in the garage, it's bound to happen eventually. I was thinking about building some kind of pulley system lift for the roof attached to my garage joists (like they have for old Mercedes tops), but never got very far with it... If you want to leave the top at home while you go for a drive, you might consider the "Targa Top" soft cover from Garfield Exotics. I know it never rains in San Diego (I hate you!!!) but these little doo-dads keep the interior from getting messy.
