Can someone please give a itemized list of the costs of bringing it from the US to your doorstep in CDN dollars?

use a $85K US price tag. Consider all recalls/campaigns have been completed and the costs of using a broker.

    Thanks

Dead on! This formula works. I test it on my calculations.
Now if you get stuck with the Recall Letter and the Inspection at FoO you might want to add another 8K... but you are still saving... just not as much.

    Cool !

I guess the other additions would be

    DRL $400
    transportation costs $2000
use of broker $2k to 3k

..and maybe if you do the recall letter and inspection add another $8k

So...on $85k the formula was $111 cdn... plus the above i mentioned: min $116k to max $125 (with recall letter)

Now I just gotta compare a similar year/$/kms/optioned car to one in Canada and see the price difference.

    Thanks

Not all brokers provide the same thing though so research which one you would be using.

Besides myself NO ONE , broker or dealer provides what I do.

After its' all said and done it usually works out to be 20-30% cheaper then buying here.

Seriously, i would use this bald monkey if i had to bring up a car from the US ... he does know his stuff to make it payless. Its worth it...but im still not convinced that US cars are better than CDN cars :D

Based on the info I read above 30% looks a little off. Would be interesting to see what a similar cdn would sell for, anyone know of a similar cdn car for sale, or anyone buy a silimar car recently.

OH Yeah, love the daytonas with black inserts!!!!! Regardless of what you paid, or how much you saved, the smile this car will put on your face is worth it.

    ENJOY!!!!

For me 85K US works out to $107,556.58 CAD. not 111K

I wonder why it calculates it differently.

Thats the beauty of the Car Purchased compared to the one at Daytona. There is only really one major difference. The 6-Speed vs the F1. Miles/KM are about the same as well as the options.

US Car - $110,000 CAD on the road
Daytona Car - 129,000 plus GST and PST (being from a dealer) = 145,770 CAD.

    Looks like about 32%

James is spot on, if not a tad conservative.

yes the price savings is a bonus but at the end of the day finding your dream car is priceless... For me Red/Tan/F1 was a must. When I started my search I noticed that Canada is short changed with 360 F1s. Can't wait for Spring!!

Yes you did really well. Not sure why but in Canada for every 10 sypders you see there is like one modena. So it's kinda rare :)

Once again...love the combo and congrats on the purchase.

You guys are comparing a negotiated price vs an asking price. You're not comparing apples to apples.

Agree 100% on the preference for Canadian Cars vs. US Cars....do your homework here, you may be pleasantly surprised.

do you think he negotiated down the $30,000 or whatever it was to make it even close to comparable?

So do the math on a $1-$5000 discount of the asking price. You're still way ahead. Unless of course you know WHO to ask in Canada. Theres LOTS of dealers out there that are happy to make a $1-$2000 off a trade to make a quick sale.

and AGAIN Fernando's car is HALF THE MILEAGE!!!!

Guys correct me if I am wrong but on the first page he mentions $140,000 on the road. Thats around $125,000 before tax and everyone keeps mentioning $85,000 for some reason. Still a savings but not like the numbers that are being thrown around.

Enjoy the car it is beautiful, really who cares what you paid as long as it puts a smile on your face.

I didn't go back and look but I think he was saying that's what a cdn car w/cdn prices would have costed him if he bought something similar here.

Everyone keeps saying $85,000 cause thats what he paid for it.

That $110k price is considering the buyer would drive the car over from the US and do all the paperwork himself. If not, then add another $5-7k for a broker and transport fees. ALso if you had to pay the clearance letter then thats another $5k minimum

Assuming the Daytona car can be bought for $123K plus tax is $139K. Even if buyer did pay the US car all in for $120K CDN, a $20grand difference is good i think considering half the mileage.

What minimum amount would you consider saving if you wanted to get one from US? $10grand to me isnt worth the hassle.
