Merry Christmas to me..... I just got an offical recall notice from Ferrari NA. It applies to 1995 - 1999 F355 and F355F1 Vin# 0101818 to 0117039 Has to do with the fuel line divider block. Will be replaced at Ferrari's expense. My problem is there is no Ferrari dealer anywhere near my location in Huntsville, Alabama. Anyone else get this yet?
Got mine today as well. LOL I'm sure this was taken care of in the major prior to my purchase in May 2008. I'm tempted to go to Boardwalk in Dallas to see how much in "extra services" my car needs.
I was wondering where mine was...arrived today. Kinda weird, this is my second recall getting done on it (first was OBDII port) and it's a 10 yr old car.
That's a great Ferrari Pictorial of the repair. World Class...if Ferrari makes their future Workshop manuals that detailed with pictures they will score a major reputation enhancement internationally. *That being said, the step on bridging the fuel pump with a wire should be modified to bridge it on with an inline fuse in that wire.
Got mine today, too. I didn't think I had even notified Ferrari NA that I had bought the car. Wierd. How did they know and get my contact info? D.O.T.?
Daniel, I couldn't access it. It said I needed to allow cookies, but cookies are enabled on my pc. Any other link available? Thanks, Geno
I just called agent and booked for next Tuesday. Its kinda strange that they are doing this after 15 years!. Noted that Im in Singapore cheers P.
My 97 GTB is at the dealership now getting work dne for 2 recalls. The first is the "recall campaign #48 ( fuel divider block replacement), the second is "to perform campaign 86 (charcoal cannister). The first is the new recall that everyone is talking about in this thread. However, I'm unfamiliar to exactly what the charcoal cannister is. What is the problem with the charcoal cannister and what is done exactly for repair of the problem. Thanks, in advance!
Dan, thanks for posting that information. I received my notice in the mail. FNA must access owner info through the DMV or DOT somehow. I don't get my car serviced at the dealership, so I was surprised they know I exist. Chris
I spoke to the mechanic, Mike Luongo today who has done virtually all the work on my car since it was purchased new. He was the last to do a major on the car. Done at Boardwalk Lambo in Dallas. He assured me all was OK on my car and that Ferrari has warned of this issue for several years now. He said that any authorized Ferrari dealership would have taken care to reinstall these exactly as they should whenever any major service would have been done. He told me to go ahead and have a look at all the lines and the areas in question. I did just that and all looks perfect. The fuel lines are all seperated very clearly and cleanly with the plastic seperators. I'm not suggesting that anyone disregard the recall but I am very confident after inspecting my car that it is not necessary to take it to the dealer. Just wanted to pass this on....
Let me also add that Mike Luongo did not literally suggest anyone should ignore this recall. He is a friend and aware of my location and the difficulty I have in just running down to the local dealer to have a look at. (there is no dealer here...LOL) Whenever I do have a major servcie done (probably at Ferrari Atlanta) I will have them install the updated kit if necessary. But for now, upon a very thourough visual inspection and knowing Mike's personal history with my car, it is not something I am going to worry about.
