    Hello all.

I just purchased thru Ebay the 250 GTO 45th Anniversay book (Limited edition 1237 out of 1962) from FinkPresse.

I also have the 35th Anniversary book (Hachette, Non-limited edition)

Anyone collects these books (or earlier ones?) and have them for sale?

PS: I paid 132 Euros ($189) for the 44th anniversary book: too much???

    Cheers!

I have a perfect one of the first anniversary books, which I purchased in 1991 at Mas du Clos. It is entitled "GTO The Anniversary". Text is in French, English and Italian. I would consider selling. Seems price should be dear. Please advise interest.

While moving some books recently, I rediscovered this magazine dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the 250 GTO tour and reunion in 1982. While the text is Italian & French (I speak neither), the photography & statistics makes it a good resource.

According to the spread page with all the GTOs , isn't it there a black one too. Because I remember some arguments here, whether there has ever been made a black GTO or not. It is important to me as I am wondering if to buy the Kyosho model in black or not. If there never was such a car in reality, then I'll pass.

So the model from Kyosho is authentic then?

That's exactly what I mean. Is it black or is it really dark blue? Because the model from Kyosho is black. I also noticed that it came out of the factory painted rosso china.

    Thanks a lot!!!
I would probably end up getting it anyway, as I have all the other GTOs from Kyosho and it is just plain gorgeous. The only difference the authenticity of the color would make is where on my priority list the purchase of the black one would fall.

In my 45th anniversary book, it says that when 4219 was purchased in 1964 by George Dyer, he wanted the car to be painted in black in order to conclude the sales... Therefore the car has been black since...

    3589GT is dark blue: http://www.maranello.cc/english/All.Ferraris/Detail/3589GT.250GTO.htm

Well, in my copy of Ferrari 250 GTO by Keith Bluemel and Jess Pourret is says "4219 was painted dark blue as part of the condition of purchase by George Dyer in 1964, and has remained that colour ever since" (page 76). More to the point, I have seen and photographed 4129 and, although it won't be very clear from the attached picture it is certainly dark blue.

To settle this, I'll ask someone who saw the car firsthand... Cheers.

    Ha!

Thank you. I'm touched that, having told you I have seen the car firsthand and posted a photograph I took of it that I don't count!

Here is another picture taken by me at the 60 Anni at Fiorano in June 2007. If you're still in doubt, why not PM Marcel Massini or, if you prefer, I can let you have Keith Bluemel's e-mail address and you can check with him.

Oups, sorry. I did not read your post throuroughly ;-). I just got a PM from Arthobald who saw the car as well and it's dark blue... Settled. So there is a mistake in my 45th anniversary book.

I now have a question. Is that blue a Ferrari blue (Blu Scuro??).

    Cheers.
