    One silly question.
My engine is clean but I would like to restore than brand new silver engine colour. With what shall I clean it.?

Was thinking of utilizing a steam cleaner. Would it work.?

    Thanks

i'll let you know but indeed i always endup with something...

thanx, surely this one complies! She was not in deaths door but already a couple of steps beyond.. Lucky for her I have a crush for her seducive lines...

    oke!

Some parts i do blast but small more fragile (like carbs etc) I use chemicals and/or ultrasonic cleaning (with agan some chemicals)does the trick for me. Blasting with shells will probably do a similar job.

I would hasitate using a steamcleaner for an engine unless it's completely torn apart. (to the last nut and bolt)

Great Hans, that would be nice!

    thanx!

oke you all confineced me, I will continue posting (LOL)

Today i (almost) finished the engine. Cleaned the carbs and put in all new small pieces.
Placed them on the engine: what a sight! Those four double barrel Webers does look great!

    About the pictures:
the first two where made on the 5th of September this year. Obviously the other two today. I'm pretty happy with the results!

    thanks Peter.

Wel guys, after close to four months of evening and weekend working, tomorrow will be another milestone in this project. The engine will go back in.
I sorted out the last bits and pieces today.

I will raise early so i have a full day ahead and hopefully at the end of the day there will be beer to celebrate....

    Wish me luck

Who's calling me stupid now :):):)

it's in and almost completely engaged.

Almost..... as due to the fact that i thought i had a spare oilfilter I didn't order one. Only yesterday I found out that the box didn't had a oilfilter in it but a fuelfilter for the QV. Duuuhhh.

anyway, job almost done. I'm happy!

Congratulations! There is no snow visible in the movie? Did you actually use one of my old pistons, would be cool if it lives on in another car! I have one as a paperweight here on my desk.

    Yes Bert, I did.
As i recently bought a complete turbo set for this car i will have to upgrade the engine anyway soo for now (read governemetal testing) i settled with your used one.

BTW the engine runs actually quite smooth with it :):)

I knew, it were the best 2 pistons I had I sent you, and at 50+ euro, the best price I got hehe. They ran ever so smooth in my car too but hey, smooth is for a daily driver we want raw power, curious about your turbo setup.

So after finished the first phase, getting the car roadworthy again, now i'm in the process of getting it track-worthy.

I already bought a turbo setup, (only to recieve it in June) investigated lots of options on ao brakes, ignition, suspension and furthermore quite busy making lightweight bodyparts

Just yesterday i pulled the trigger on both shocks and ignition. In both cases I ended up with Nick Forza.
First I went for his direct ignition set with an additional MAP sensor and secondly I purchased his suspension set with track settings and suitable springs.

For all on the fence, just contact Forza. For me most important was the level of knowledge of our beloved 308s. Nick appears to be ahead of most of ther manufacturers I contacted recently. He simply had an answer to every single question I asked. And, he made me a good offer too!

Can't wait for the goodies to arrive

BYW does anybody has experiences with this suspension set? And or that matter with the ignition?
