BT, it's a 1911 liberty head nickel that just happened to be the only coin in my desk drawer when I took these pics. I think it came from Whataburger.

Yoshi used to supply an extremely thin -- and clear -- 3m VHB tape. Clear was important, because any thickness of adhesive is still visible when looking form the side.

I think you're right, but all I've been able to find is tape (1" wide max.). So I would have to run several strips. I don't want to risk trapping dust and water between the shields and fenders. Maybe I'm being too picky.

That's the Yohsi ones were. I think they run 'side to side' (not top to bottom) on the shields on my car.

Thanks Daniel - I will check this out. And BTW, those Hill bearings you sent look sweet on the front of my engine, which are now of course surrounded by pretty aluminum timing belt covers. :)

I have the same ones...look great on the car. I used the 3M VHB tape, works fine, been on the car for about a year or so. Use a blower to dry around the shields if you are concerned.

Do you guys happen to know how thick the tape is on your shields? 20 or 40 mil?

The thickness of the 3M VHB tape I use for my shields is 1 mm, which is the same thickness as the one for the shield metal.

One solution to prevent trapping would be to cut the 3M tape into long strips that are 1/4" wide allowing you to "turn corners" with it. This would allow you to attach a solid border around the outer part of the shield and thereafter apply the strips of 1" wide tape in the middle.

    Likely overkill.

One can and should clearly see that you have not driven that Ferrari in the snow, it looks far to clean. Not that you have to justify how you drive your Ferrari to anyone on here.
Anyway the car looks fantastic with the snowy background. Great colour contrasts that shows of the red fabulously:) My god i almost sound like i am an art student :D

To close out this thread (thanks to Andrew for the reminder in another thread here), I ended up using 3M Superbond Molding tape. 3M no longer makes the VHB stuff. I purchased this from Autozone for around $8 (60" roll). It's grey in color, 7/8" wide and about .5mm thick. It worked out perfectly, and has been on the car for 6 months through cold and hot weather - no issues at all.
