    hi there when performing an oil change how many qts is needed and what grade of oil do you guys use in the summer time.

    Total is 12 when system is dry.

    It usually takes 10 +/- at oil change.

    5W40 Redline

    Make sure you have an oil filter wrench to torque the filter around 18.5-18.6 ft-lbs.

    You will also need 12 mm and 14 mm hex wrenches and 22 mm oil rings

    to ck oil level does eng have to be at normal operating temp than turn off than ck level?

    engine at normal operating temp- leave car idling- check with cap resting on top of reservoir (not in screwed down position)

    Use a rag to hold dipstick cap she will be hot.

    5W40 is the perfect match, but 10W40 is ok too.

    thanks for all the reply i used redline syn 5/40 and oem oil filter.

    This is your mother speaking: did you properly torque that filter?

    Would it be recommended to use Redline 5w-50 oil instead of the recommended 5w-40?
    I live in Florida and it gets pretty hot during the summer months so i would think that the 5w-50 would provide better great protection.
