Dino Competizione in the rain

I was there that year with my Dusenberg which drove fine in the rain. Dino Competizione also drives well in the rain.

 

Is it every year?
I went to Pininfarina in april, but some "old" (a Ferrari can't be old!) prototypes were not here!
When will the next event be?

 

There was Villa d'Este/Villa Erba.

 

Although the cars are the main image in these very nice photos, my eyes immediately went to this lovely lady under that blue umbrella...........

I was there too...Rain, rain and always rain ! And I remember the Dusy..
At that time, did you already planning to be the next owner of the Dino ?

The real question Jim is whether you got a shower while driving it or not. Every older Ferrari that I've owned leaked badly enough in the rain so that you didn't need to shower after you drove it.

Thanks for posting the picture of Jim's Duesenberg, I have ALWAYS wondered what they looked like with the weather equipment in place.

Jim: do the windows *roll* down into the doors, or are they removed (they appear to be glass)?

Something I learned when I bought my Austin-Healey (San Francisco, 1978) is that the only difference between driving in the rain with the top up, and driving in the rain with the top down, is not as many people laugh at you. You get just as wet either way.

Neat photos, thanks for sharing. Hadn't seen the P6 before, cool to see some of the early ideas that made their way into both the 308 and BB - to better effect even.

Wonder why the white 3-seater dino that was at the Simeone museum earlier this year (seem to remember the placard saying it wasn't owned by him?) wasn't there (or was it?)

It wasn't as those were cars then owned by PF.

 

Thank you; that's what I would've guessed, but the reflection on the right-front glass could be mistaken for a sliding pane (not that the forward portion could travel far rearward, due to the curvature).

Dusenberg are absolutely beautiful!

 

What incedible craftsmanship; sounds silly to say it, but they sure don't make them like that anymore!

As great a car as a whole is, I relish the details, and appreciative of the effort required to produce them.
