Anyone know where I can get a replacment cameral lens ... not the clear plasitc case it comes in, but the actual 170* lens that is on the camera?

I dropped my camera and it smashed the lens, so I contacted Go pro and they said that its not replaceable, but i took the camera apart and the lens is a simple plastic part that to me seems to not be a problem to replace.... question is where do you get one from?

I literally had the cam for 3 days and then bam!

so I'm trying not to have a $400 lesson in cams.... thanks for any insight.

BTW the cam still works fine, I put it all back together and it shoots good pics, but the focus is way off... so you need the lens to get really clear pics... other wise its all blurry except if you are right in front of the lens... close in.

    Cheers!

Tom........Did you get the wide with the large fish-eye lens on the outer case? (That is the one I have). And you're looking for the one on the camera itself, right?

Did you try contacting the manufacture direct? They could tell you who has
it in stock as well as who could fix it. It maybe a warranty item that they
    would fix or repair.

That is where I would start.

    Good Luck

Tom......another option (if all the base camera lenses are the same and just the housing gives your wide or not)...... search US wide on Craigslist for a used one that someone wants to upgrade. Bet you can find one for $50-60. (Then you can have the most expensive GoPro out there)

Yep its the actual camera lens... did not think about Craigs list...

I took the camera apart yesterday... pretty easy... and got the cracked lens out, so not it works perfect, except you can only take pictures of things about 4 inches away from the cam...

Yes - Tom Spiro the owner of the most expensive Go Pro Hero on the planet! - is has a ring to it!
