Absolutely agree buddy, the suspension and brakes of most sports cars are fine for daily road driving and those that like to do spirited driving on the roads or even B roads of Malaysia. Anything else will be unutilised capacity.

But for the track the best suspension upgrade is to just buy a Scud, Balboni, SL or RS... no need to touch anything other than tires.... hehehe

next track day I am organising for my mate to bring his Aston cup car out and I want to ride passenger in it. Those things are amazing! he currently owns 5 of them and says they are sensational on the track!!!

great stuff .. I never knew it was that narrow, I can see why so many people go off as I'd be going cross country on almost every corner.

You can get fully adjustable coil overs suspension for the turbo! Prices are much more reasonable than the Ferrari's and Lambo's suspension system.

Besides that can also do the sway bars and all to give the turbo better handling! ;)

Yeah! Our ex 355 was very solid around corners, feels like a go-kart! :)

Your right, thats why high-end tuners also recommend bodykits to be sold as a package! Some like to mix and match, but probably wont work well.

Yep, was thinking aero might help but getting a wind tunnel study is impossible here! Or maybe we can DIY one, get a big fan, blow it then light a cigar :D

I believe the tyres & suspension helps a lot such as damping rates etc but that is a science which I always fail !

I guess buying quality & specific upgrade shocks from Bilsteins etc helps.

My M5 felt floaty above 200, the 964 was strangely very planted once past 150 (the auto wing back there helps), even the Murcie felt floaty above 250 (was always thinking of a big mama wing to have a big downforce), Gallardo was fine, 430 very tricky on fast sweeps & race mode, Testa's bodybits were like falling apart above 250 (shocks were probably 18yrs old!), S15 was on Tein multiway, was set for drifting & very very hard, turned the knobs a few rounds & was civilised. Well almost every other normal cars felt floaty above 150.

The 997 with PASM turned on is softer than my Murcie which is probably good for daily but lacks the intimate feel.

S$200K!? That guy must have loved it to bits.... actually I never like the "gapping mouth" of Techart GT, everything is a little OTT for me in the looks dept but that's juz me.

Hey hey hey, I might just leave her alone! "tugging war"

    Yeap. No we're talking cars!

Jon... when you refer to "floaty feel" do you mean you feel the front end feels light? or the rear starts to "give" at high speed? high speed mishandling is largely aero based issues as bro lung pointed out.

Each calls for a different aerodynamic solution. And its all about balance. Too much downforce at the front, and you will get a more planted front end but a rear that might snap on you around a fast corner, too much rear downforce and the front end will be super light at speed and push but at the same time wont snap on you around say turn 3 at sepang for example.

BTW you reached breakfast destination already? was there any delays based on cops checking o/s speeding fines etc...

    see you in the morning...

fong.. good trackday? saw kin at PCS... was surprised he did not go TCC today...

I had an issue with the car on the way home tonight. Near Newton I put my foot down in 1st and the revs went up to 6k but it felt more like 2k. I came to a stop, put it in N and reved it & all seemed ok, but when I put it into 1st again and accelerated a buzzer sounded (but no warning lights came on) and it crawled along at 5k rpm. I got it the 500m home & parked it & there was no tell tale clutch smell (clutch was replaced a month ago), so I am at loss to what the problem is.

I'll take it down to IA tomorrow

    Any clues?
