And what penalty has been served exactly?. I'm with Remy on this one, I can't see why there's so much love for a man who quite frankly, is as sleazy, if not more than Max supposedly is (don't believe Me?, try asking Heidi Klum with whom he had a child, tried to deny being the father and now (according to Miss Klum), has nothing to do with his own child child). Yes Max over stepped the mark at the end of his time with the FIA and maybe did make things too personal, but he did also do alot of good for F1 in his time which seems to be completely overlooked now.As for Max's sexual indiscretion, is Flavio any better not accepting his responsibility in fathering a child and having nothing to do with it?, I don't think so. I will apologise to Lamborghini owners straight away, but when I think of Briatore, I straight away think of a sleazy, Diablo driving lothario in a night club, chatting up impressionable 17 year olds, impressing them with his wealth, purely to get them into bed, have his way with them and then dump them to make space for his next victim. Sorry but I don't see Briatore as anyone to admire in any way, shape or form. He's a fat, ageing, sleazy, cheat and for Me, F1 is better of without him!.
Phill cheating on your wife in a Chelsea flat with some Nazi hookers, ignoring advice that you were being followed because your such a pig headed cretin, is far worse on a personal level than what Flav could come up with, at least he didn't try to hide it IMO. And don't even get me started on his job/dictating service in the FIA. The sport is much much better off without Mosley than Flav. PS And think about the position he held.
Steve, I don't condone in anyway what Max did, let Me state that for a start. For Me personally, I love one girl only and would never even think about any other, let alone seeing any other girls in any way, shape or form. I know exactly how strongly you view the whole Max affair and I understand where you're coming from. However, I fail to see anything worthy of praise in a man who got caught blatantly cheating in F1, lied about his involvement in the incident and who having got his girlfriend pregnant, accused her of sleeping around, denying the child was his and then when it was proved beyond doubt that the child was his, refused to have anything to do with the child. The man has no honour and I fail to see any real difference between Briatore or Mosley. Yes Mosley was in a position of high authority, but so was Briatore as the head of Renault and the scandal he was involved with could have cost all of the Renault F1 workers their jobs. That's not something to be taken lightly and laughed off as "Briatore's just one of the lads, having a laugh!". For Me, a lifetime ban was what he deserved.
Well Phill ok I hear you, and I'am not in anyway defending Flav's actions (assuming he was the one with the idea) they were bordering on the fringes of insane. IMO he did it for a quick fix to get Renault of his back with a win, and kept Alonso happy in the process. Live by the sword die by it, I don't think he will work in F1 again, or put it this way no one will want to work with him, but Mosley in his blind hate for him tried to destory him on a personal level beyond F1. Whereas Mosley was prepared to destory the whole of F1 because he would not back down in the FOTA v FIA war of words breakaway, in the end the CVC ect had to step and salvage the situation and got him to agree for REAL this time! to step down. So to me it is as plain as day Mosley was a complete loose cannon, and the real danger to F1. Anybody with a shred of decency would have resigned there position when caught getting there arse slapped in the mock set up he had made in that flat. Remember there were high profile folk that refused to meet him after that, eg Monaco royalty.. the past is littered with it, he was the king rat of F1, Flav pales into insignificance compared to him. http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2008/05/16/monaco-royalty-snubs-max-mosley/ http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2008/05/26/max-mosley-accused-of-helping-michael-schumacher-win-1994-championship/
I can go along with that. Besides, Flavio brings a certain Euro-trash flair to the whole event. Imagine if everyone was nice? Boring....
